Beautiful place! One of my good friends keeps going to the Philippines. He loves it there. He has one more contract to complete with his company then he is moving there full-time. He spends several months there a year now. IIRC you went to Thailand to teach? Are planning on living there permanently?

I really didn't go specifically to teach. Spent 12 years taking care of mom with dementia and when she passed, I needed a change. The teaching was simply a way to learn lots more about Thailand culture while killing a couple of years until I could draw my pension and retire. Yeah here 8 + years now, same GF 8 years now, live in a suburban townhome community north of Bangkok, she manages malls for a retail conglomerate and I keep the house and garden. This weekend trip was not far from one of her mall properties so we skirted over for a few days to r@rtonebender wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:46 am Beautiful place! It's about 8:00 in Colorado. What time is it there? I've asked this before but I can't rememebr the time diffference.

8:45 pm currently. There are many bicycle trails in the national parks here. Usually can rent bikes nearby or in the park itself. Also kayaking tootlarson58 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 9:41 amHow cool! - l and super trails (for bikes?).Tonray's Ghost wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 9:13 amThe hotel was called PrangPaya resort. Looks like a gorgeous place to spend a few days. That river picture could have been taken here in the Western NC mountains before I got stuck in this wheelchair I was an avid outdoorsman and trout fishing these mountain streams was one of my favorite pass times.

No trout that I know of but plenty of SnakeHeads which are a 'bounty' fish in parts of USA because they kill everything else, but here they are some of the tastiest fish you can get. Also many catfish in the slow areas of the river.redman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 6:08 pm Looks like a gorgeous place to spend a few days.
