Beautiful place! One of my good friends keeps going to the Philippines. He loves it there. He has one more contract to complete with his company then he is moving there full-time. He spends several months there a year now. IIRC you went to Thailand to teach? Are planning on living there permanently?

I really didn't go specifically to teach. Spent 12 years taking care of mom with dementia and when she passed, I needed a change. The teaching was simply a way to learn lots more about Thailand culture while killing a couple of years until I could draw my pension and retire. Yeah here 8 + years now, same GF 8 years now, live in a suburban townhome community north of Bangkok, she manages malls for a retail conglomerate and I keep the house and garden. This weekend trip was not far from one of her mall properties so we skirted over for a few days to r@r

How beautiful! Where is this place? I'd like to look it up on the 'net. How far away is it from your residence?

The hotel was called PrangPaya resort. It is right outside Khao Yai National park which is about a 3 hour drive depending on traffic from home.

8:45 pm currently. There are many bicycle trails in the national parks here. Usually can rent bikes nearby or in the park itself. Also kayaking too

Wow. 13 hours difference!

I would love to go somewhere like that (and stay in a resort).

Looks like a gorgeous place to spend a few days. That river picture could have been taken here in the Western NC mountains before I got stuck in this wheelchair I was an avid outdoorsman and trout fishing these mountain streams was one of my favorite pass times.

No trout that I know of but plenty of SnakeHeads which are a 'bounty' fish in parts of USA because they kill everything else, but here they are some of the tastiest fish you can get. Also many catfish in the slow areas of the river.
