...Also, I thought the Rondo text about coil splitting was a copy paste error from the humbucker version, but pulling the tone pots does something that increases pickup output, which seems opposite of a coil split or tap. I'll have to open it up and check the wiring to see what exactly that is doing. Coil tap wired backwards?
It's a stacked P90, so little hum in any position but really not much to be gained from splitting as the extra magnet/coil is there to eliminate the hum. However, the push/pulls are good for the series thing...

Hmmmm. Still seems weird that the output goes up when pulled. I would have wired it the opposite. If I keep the push pulls, I might use them to change tone cap values or maybe do something crazy like turn on and off an onboard buffer.

What kind of mod is that? Don't be a luddy duddy! Don't be a moon calf! Don't be a jabbernowl! You're not those, are you?" Make it a manly project and install a Veritone switch...

Hey there. I realized you posted this a year ago, but I thought I’d chip in. Sorry guys, I’m not very active on the actual forum lol.

I was the original buyer of this particular guitar. I know because of the quilt top and I received it October 5th 2023 when I bought it. So the timing makes sense. If any of you are in the agile Facebook group you’d probably have seen me make a NGD post for it.

I fell in love with the finish, I thought it was one of the most gorgeous guitars I’d ever seen. I wanted to justify keeping it, but the main reason I sent it back was not because of the little ding in the binding, but because of the headstock. Kurt is very….conservative about flaws when he lists B stocks sometimes I’ve noticed. He mentioned one flaw when he relisted it, but in reality there were several. All mainly cosmetic, but in my head it was B stock worthy. Weirder to me, I sent him pictures of all the ones I could find, close up and circled in red via photo editor, and he still only said it had the one flaw in the binding. Which I don’t even think is one that I caught 0.o If that were the case though, I would have kept it, and no the pickup switch was not broken like that when I received it. Must have come from shipping when it came your way.

Anyways, the headstock, Have you looked at it? How bout the nut? There were more flaws in the binding as well, but the binding flaws weren’t a deal breaker for me. Really the finished over headstock crack on the bass side by low E and the sloppy finish on the treble side of the nut is what did it for me.

Although my OCD prevented me from keeping it, I’m glad you’re enjoying it and will probably end up ordering another one. It was so damn beautiful. And that awesome grain on the back of the neck, killer!

Anyways, Here are the flaws I found on it that prompted me to return it, which again, many may find minor and not a big deal, to each their own. Some of these are just photos of the same flaws with different angles, and one has both sides of the bottom of the headstock to compare them and demonstrate how one side was off.

If I liked the tone and feel and the grain was great I don't think I'd see those flaws on a $3000 guitar
