I've got too many strats. Should I make one into a Coodercaster? Or something more like Ariel Posen?
These are actually Jazzmaster pickups according to this interview (previous section covers this), but I happen to have some noiselss P90s that were prototypes based on JM pickups. @andrewsrea what's your thoughts?
It's probably pretty easy to do something like Ariel's setup. A Coodercaster probably requires buying vintage pickups like gold foils or stuff steel players use. The aesthetic is cooler with a Coodercaster, but I only need to worry about a pickguard with an Ariel style setup.
There are all kinds of double P90 Strat pickguards out there, even some with a master volume/master tone but none that I could find with a three-way toggle, just the usual blade switch slit. Of course, that would not be a problem if you went to one of the custom cutters...

I don't think you could fit a Jazzmaster pickup in a P90 housing. JM are larger.
That's true, you'd have to go the custom route. @Buddha Pickups makes a Jazzmaster pickup in a P90 form factor but the OP already has the pickups...BatUtilityBelt wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:56 pm I don't think you could fit a Jazzmaster pickup in a P90 housing. JM are larger.

It can be done. Easier if the Strat has the bathtub rout. More complicated if routing required. If you can't find a 2 x P90 pickguard, a Strat blank would work.golem wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:35 pm
