Christmas ideas

What are you guys wanting to receive for Christmas this year? I don't have a clue, but my wife keeps pressing me for ideas, maybe yours can spark some ideas for me! Definitely under $200 ideas say.

I struggle with the same thing. I prefer pragmatic items and then to get them, after long deliberation, the time I really need them. Which makes buying gifts for me a chore. So, I buy things like an EZ Drummer upgrade and my family members get to say it was from them.

I am placing an order to Mojo Tone today, for a custom made 1x15 cabinet which will match my vintage 1964 Fender Vibroverb. My wife gave the green light, so she gets to claim it as a Christmas gift given.

...that's exactly what I do. I want something, I just buy it. When I was asked this year, I sent a list of things I need but didn't want to pay for, like hardware, a cordless screwdriver, guitar building supplies, and stuff like that... My wife said, "that's not a list, tell me what you want!" LOL

Thanks @tonebender for putting this in my head. I can't shake it now. We don't gig enough to warrant it but it sure would be nice. It's a bit over the $200 cap, though.

I was thinking about a pair of Colorado Avalanche tickets but a decent one is $185. Add parking, gas and snacks and that's an expensive evening.

Some ski/trekking poles are under $200. It's money well-spent if you use them enough.

Think I am going to pick out an oscilloscope for my wife to get me. Nothing elaborate, and maybe an old analog model, because it’s just a hobby. Getting back into repairing old hifi gear like it did in the 70’s. Yes, I’m old.

@Spike I purchased an SE microphone, not sure the model but I did not like it for vocals. I use it to mic up the Cajon though, and it works fine for that.

@tlarson58 Everyday I talk myself out of ordering the Evolve 30 with the 8 inputs and built in effects. Worse GAS I have had in a while. I do not even need it.

Now on to Christmas ideas. Many years ago, I am thinking the 90's, I called my mom to tell her I thought it would be nice if, instead of our family swapping trinkets like we did every year, we picked a charity we could all agree on and make a donation in the family's name. She humored me with her approval, but when we hung up she called my sister and told her that I was an ass@#$%. Needless to say we swapped trinkets until she passed away. Fast forward to this year, most of my immediate family is gone except my sister and brother but I do have the in-laws. They all come here on Christmas day to swap trinkets and enjoy a meal that I cook. What do you know, they all decided to not exchange gifts this year. YAY!!!

so seems like my wife decided to just buy me a desk... she's hinted at wanting me to have a different one than what I've got, and then she said she wanted to get me one, and after giving her other ideas for presents, it seems she likes the desk idea the best... I'm thinking I would have gotten a desk no matter what LOL

Here is an idea for the Agile owner that has everything. A Multi scale/fanned fret AL-3010SE. I forgot they ever made these - perhaps that is a good thing?

Music biographies are always a good choice, because rock and roll stories are awesome. I got Geddy Lee's last year, and ot was a great read (of course, he worked with Mordecai Richler's son on it, so that might have helped). Ozzy's is a hoot too.
