Not our tightest show by a long shot, but a fun one. I'm the guitarist in the black hat and sunglasses.
(I also wish that the camera was a little further back so that it would show there actually was an audience and not just two or three people

Thanks! Yeah, the Martinets are definitely kind of a "thing". There's actually a funny story about the gig and them: we were originally given the impression that we were going to be responsible for putting together the entire lineup, so we started contacting other bands and arranging things. Then we were told that the lineup was already set up, so we had to go back to the bands that we'd talked to and apologize, and we grumbled, and said, "OK, well, let's see who they put us with..." and we start looking them up, and when we see that who the Martinets, and Daniel Rey in particular, are, our jaws drop!jhull54 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 9:43 am I went back and checked out your band's set in it's entirety. You guys have kind of a Stooges/Saints vibe! Liked it a lot.
I then checked out the Martinets. They were pretty tight, too. I looked and isn't that Daniel Rey's band? That guy has done a lot of stuff and is a semi-legend (in my book anyway) in the scene up there. Very cool to see their set. 3 chords and a cloud of dust. All three groups were really entertaining. Looked like a great show.
There's a bar named Mama Tried down here pretty close by, but it's definitely more "Texas themed" than the one you guys played.![]()
