The 10th generation launched the mini bed revolution aka SuperCrew, killed off the Bronco for far too long, and they also stopped making proper truck engines outside of those they bought from Navistar/IH as the 300-I6, 351W, and 460 died to be replaced by weeny OHC engines that were much better suited to cars than trucks...
When I was a kid, my friend had a 1968 C-10 with a 350ci V8 and a 4 speed trans with an extra-low 1st gear, nicknamed 'Brama Blue'. He bought it used for $150. That was a true workhorse value.

All the money I saved buying Bentons the past couple years made it easy to save up for a nice down-payment.

Good thing you are in Arizona! I've been reading a lot lately where people are finding their EV's lose about half their range during winter.

I'm burning good old gasahol (E10) in my new ride, since we only have 1 pure gasoline station within driving distance and it is 89 only and I'd prefer to run premium with the turbo to get the most power available.

I will not buy an EV (nor do I want a hybrid as I prefer my manual transmission) at least not for another decade or more and will not get into the reasons as it would skew into the geo-political arena (not to mention the piss poor readiness of our country's electrical grid...)

I guess we are lucky here because we got the "ahol" out of our "gas" two or three years ago. I just saw where the value of my Miata is about to start going up because for the 23 or 24 model year Mazda is going to turn it into a hybrid! Can you imagine a hybrid Miata?????

Interestestingly enough EVs (from China) are becoming more available here..as 2 companies have actually opened showrooms in our local megamall outside of Bangkok. I was just thinking as I was leaving the parking lot of the local Supermarket/depatrment store (Big-C sort of Thailand's Walmart) where would someone charge their EV around here...and lo and behold as I sat waiting to turn onto the roadway...I notice 3 brand new EV charging stations right on the side of the exit ramp of the supermarket lot. There is a car called the GW Ora GoodCat that has caight my eye...maybe next time around....being sold in Europe, Aus and the UK currently as I understand with good revirews.

That sounds stupid...

Just like a hybrid Corvette, though the hybrid Koenigsegg is pretty sweet, so maybe I am just getting old and want to keep the purity of proper inexpensive sports alive. I almost spent part of my down-payment on a really clean NA Miata that my mom's neighbor is selling.

For Koenigsegg sort of money one could even make a Prius desirable! :D

A LOT of crap.
And we prove it everyday.
Actually it's sort of a pickup that's harder to steal out of. It also makes a nice temp shed and sometimes tent.
We haul 800 lbs + of animal feed in ours all the time.
Way better to haul band equipment. And it can seat 8.

And you know what they say if this van is a rockin?
Let our dog out. She jumped in and we didn't notice and closed the door. :)

We’ve had Minivans since our 2nd was born and I’m with you on all counts. My wife is currently driving a 2019 Toyota Sienna, it’s our third one and we love it. It’s basically the same drivetrain and platform as the Sienna SUV but with more room. It’s super comfortable, rides smooth and has plenty of power. You can haul a ton of sruff, we’ve even used it as a makeshift camper with the back seats down and middle row forward . We got the XLE trim with leather and sunroof This time too so its plush.
Sienna is ours too. 200k mi we just put a new engine in it so I think we will keep it awhile..
I came from driving a series of C2 vettes. I've had a c2 race car for 20 years now but with kids I never got going on the project. My dad's getting to old for his 66 and lives his new c6. I'm considering selling my basket case and buying his. It's been in the family since I was 6. I drove home with it when he found it.
Currently driving a 99 celica. It's nice putting the top down but there has never been a car that more makes you miss driving a sports car than these celicas. At least a mini van doest pretend. And it still passes 80% of everything I run across in the mountains. :)

I do not think it's a good idea to pay way over price for cars that are on backorder because they can't get parts. Cars with many times more parts than they have ever had. And it seems nearly all of them so interdependent that any one of them will cripple the car.
I liked my C2 when the alternator blew and fried the wiring harness and I replaced the alt and fixed the harness on the side of the road and only missed 2 hours of work. That t me is reliability

500 mi on a 72? Will he drive the new one? Is he some kind of polishing fanatic without a driver's lic?

So it has arrived - about 9 months to the date after the order date. A side benefit was that between then and now, my oldest son (who was the intended recipient ) has secured full time employment with benefits so he can pay the whole bill himself :-) June 17 is the date that 2024 order banks open up, and last year they closed in less than 24 hours due to demand. I got a Carvana quote for about 3K more than we paid for this one, but it's not going anywhere as my Son really likes it.

For those that were interested, this was an XLT AWD Ecoboost turbo ( non hybrid ) with the XLT Lux package ( heated power seats/steering wheel/other creature comforts ), 4K tow package, Remote Start, Block heater and Sliding rear window. MSRP was just a hair under 30k. My son just graduated from tech school and also is a newly minted Paramedic so he got about $1250 in rebates from Ford for those 2 accomplishments as well.

First impressions are good - it's really quick, super quiet and rides nice. It's built on the same platform as the Bronco Sport/Escape which is a unibody) All the tech works well and it has a sporty/utilitarian interior that will be perfect for my son who likes the outdoors and also has lots of work related gear to haul around.

These were from when it just rolled off the truck prior to dealer prep.

A salesman played us that tune stating that it was a tax that took vehicle scarcity into consideration. We took our business elsewhere.
We were dismayed when most local dealers were adding huge markups (we were shopping for an Explorer ST). We gladly drove a couple hours from civilization to a dealer selling below sticker.

FORD pushed ours to the 2024 and we're not happy. They removed the securicode keypad on the '24. That's one features my wife wanted. The '23 should work on the '24 so I can always add it later on.

My wife got hers and I was impressed with hers and ended up purchasing one. We both got a '23 Hybrid Lariat model.

She didn't get the one she ordered as that is just hitting production now. She was able to get one locally in November at MRSP.. I was lucky to get one at MRSP as well a month later.
