yes yes yes, c'est moi. how y'all been?

yesterday I went to the Goodwill website and was scanning through guitars like the addict I am...and I saw an SX Strat for not much money. I bid $41 and won it.

I mean, it's not like I needed it....because I already have SEVEN Strats, and one of them is an SX Hawk....but I just couldn't resist. I have three SX's and love them all. The Hawk, a Liquid, and a hollow-body EG7.

So....yeah...I sorta screwed up. I'm supposed to be DOWNSIZING my collection, not growing it.

And you wrote a song without even trying.

Peskypesky's back and he scored an SX Strat
On the Goodwill site yesterday.
It was $41, which is worth a holler,
And we all know that Texan can play.

This Strat is great, it will be number eight,
Looks as fresh as a Springtime boquet.
Though it's really quite absurd, he should be culling the herd,
Instead of posting a New Guitar Day.

Good of you to drop in, and happy NGD. :D

It's got that Euro beak (or at least that's what I think of when I see those)

Looks like it could be a steal, good bones at the very least.

haha! We can always count on TooManyCats for some wordsmithing.

Oh, by the way, I also got a cat! After almost 2 years of interaction (feeding, petting) I have finally "domesticated" the feral cat that I found living in my mother's backyard. She now is doing something I never dreamed she would do: she jumps up on the couch and cuddles with me and purrs and snoozes.

Nice score. However, I can beat that by $1. There's a lefty SX strat in my hood for $40. If it wasn't black....

everyones got room for a black strat. Jimi's last known photo's were with his black strat, in a garden.

Black strats are a great blank slate.

Any pickguard color pretty much works, any hardware color/finish works, racing stripes are easily added, etc.

I actually tried to buy it after I posted that. Gone. The color would have been less troublesome if I didn't already have a black strat.

I remember, now. With the Fatpup pickups? If so, which model?

I have a Black 70's CV strat that's been somewhat Gilmour-ized. Indonesia is the new Korea.

Based on the build quality of the last several MII Harley Bentons I've bought, I would agree...

I'd rather just buy them painted these days. :D On that note, I've got a new tele body coming....

I still can't get over my TE-90. PIckups are perfect for me. I'm interested in that baritone Mosrite-style model, but I REALLY don't like sunburst. I might get over that though.

I have officially not purchased a guitar in a whole year now! But I keep getting tempted to try a Harley Benton Fusion.

I'm having a hard time believing it myself, but I think so far this year, I've only bought one guitar (an AL-3125 this past May from @Brendan). Granted, there aren't too many left on my bucket list but regardless, the used lefty market seems to have dried up, not even that many ridicuously overpriced ones out there...

I still look for oddballs like the DiPinto Galaxy and the few I've seen are over a grand. That's nuts. Guitar Center used has all Agile LP's at $450-ish. I'm not sure those are moving. Few deals.
I've been eyeballing this and threw a bid at it. Seller accepted.

Alder, double-bound, maple top, 3.75lbs. Going to try a mini-humbucker in the neck.
