Wasn't looking for a project. Didn't need a project. Have a project already. Have V to build already.

Welp..... Enter...the Vortex!

Yeah, I know. I'll put my eye out with that.

When I contacted the seller, I thought it was the neck, body and bridge. Nope. It came with almost everything (pickups et al), including this:

Yep, a USA-made Kahler. Worth the price of admission alone.

So, now I have a V to build...as well as the V I have to build.

It may well be a buzz-bomb. My limited research says those pickups are scorching hot.

Oddly though, the tone pot is a 250K. I wonder if that was done to tame things a little.

At any rate, have to get another V built first -- a present from my lids for my 50th -- and they're going to help, somewhat.

I might have to get the body painted before summer is out though.

@Rollin Hand I believe everyone needs a good project as for me though I've sworn off working on guitars I'm just happy I didn't say anything about basses. :D

The problem is I have too many projects and not enough time....but, here we go again!

The guy I bought it from: "I am 60 and I have a lot of projects. I probably only have 20 years left so I have to clear out some of them."

He had project cars, guitars, bikes...his entire basement was one big workshop.
