Headline reads, "New 40th Anniversary Collection pays tribute to five classic Fender designs."
They put block inlays on the Stratocaster and Tele.
WTF?
Couldn't they have just made an exemplary Squier Strat and Tele with classic features for the anniversary models?
Is this just an excuse for Squier to test out some of that Fender Parallel Universe energy and see how it flies?

Gold hardware and too dang pricy.
Not for me.
Not for me.
It looks like a revival of Fender's Big Block series from 2008: Big Block Stratocaster and Big Block Telecaster. Large block fretboard inlay, mirror pickguard, black plastic, and black finish. The Strat had an Enforcer humbucker at the bridge. The Tele had a neck-style pickup in the middle position and 5-way switching.
I don't think they made many and the series lasted only one year.

I like gold hardware same as nickel, chrome, or mixing medals. But, the lack of ash and alder kills any of my "tribute" interest.

Maybe they included the cost of the stairway ?

Bump for block inlay!
I forget the member who made this phrase well known. Anyways I kinda like a lot of the design choices even if the gold is a little much. $600? For real? That’s a little hard to swallow unless these truly play and feel that good. I played a newer squier cv jazzmaster and it left me wanting more. A lot more. It sure looked pretty from a couple feet away though

I'd consider one at those prices if it quality is there and the feature set suits me. A good guitar costs what it costs. The value proposition is up to the buyer, as always.

Same here. But then again, I already got most anything I ever even wanted , on a whim. After rondo squier wasn't in my top 50 list of wanted gear.Partscaster wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 8:19 pm I like gold hardware same as nickel, chrome, or mixing medals. I missed the beginning of the rondo goldrush but I still did fine. A closeout 3001, ash strats and teles, p90 callisto for friggin $89?!
I came here with basically 1 guitar because there wasn't much good wood, high quality, great looking stuff out there at a decent price. Then I had 3 or 4 fat years with kurt. At this point I can just feel sorry for anyone wanting to fill out their stable like we all did here. Oh and if we do sell some off I suspect we may get more gain on our gear than anything in the S&P over the next few years.
