Consumer alert...

Some folks swear by carbon-zinc 9v batteries for their effect pedals, especially fuzz and OD. They have almost 10v when new and linger at 8.8v for a while (starving the fuzz for that spitty sound and compressing the ODs). Pretty steady on current deliver as well.

While music brands have carbon-zinc batteries, your best value is the Amazon brand for <$1 each.

I don't dispute there is a sweet spot, but are batteries really the answer there? If dialing the voltage in is important, batteries offer no reliability. Why not just use a benchtop power supply if aiming for a very specific voltage?

And yeah, my fuzz pedal has no power adapter plug so is set up just for battery, but I run it with a 9-volt adapting cord.
