Oh, guess what I used as color? A permanent marker. You can get great dye from them, just open up and soak the thing in spirits, get a quart of dye. Very bright totally see thru color too. Several applications gives a nice 3D, very nice tone. Pictures don't really show it well would need sunlight, and also needs polishing still...but I'll be using those markers again for sure.

The second V kit is well underway. Have to make the pickguard from scratch again. Gave it a faux binding. This one is all natural from the back so it needed a boundary IMO. Sharpie pen to the rescue

I'm approximating building one takes maybe 20 hours of work or so. Maybe a little more, even. But it's very rewarding.

Also took the 1st one apart again for some improvements and polishing. This time I'm not so anxious to get these done

taking my time with it. Maybe a week or two more till they are done.

Nice job! I couldn't ever get that trick to work in my testing runs. Looks pretty good here, tho.
