It’s killing me that my new LP is hanging in the living room with no strings because I have work tomorrow and didn’t have time to string it up and do a setup. If I’m in suspense, I figured you can be too, lol.

Which one did you buy? With or without the hardware? Did you figure how much you will have invested vs a complete guitar?

I bought without hardware because I wanted the black Tonepros stuff. My local GC had the new satin wine red one for about $300 more than I’m at all in, and I would have sold the tradbuckers to recoup a little cost. I made out slightly - not enough if you like the stock trad pro v build and wouldn’t replace parts. I had an pretty new 81/85 set I wanted in the guitar and lighter tuners than the locking Grovers, though. The other thing is that all 4 trad pro v’s in the two local guitar centers were boat anchors. Stratosphere is listing weights now, so my husk was 6lbs 13oz (the lightest one they had), and the complete guitar is 8 3/4 lbs on the kitchen scale.

Nicely done. The black adds an appropriate amount of menace.

It’s does pretty well in the sunlight, too. I don’t really have to tell anyone about what an 81/85 set sounds like in an LP, but it sounds exactly like I wanted it to. It’ll probably spent most of its time wearing 12s and fairly fuzzed out in drop C, but with volume and tone around 8, it cleans up very nice, too.
