Came across this one while browsing good ole GC used for a cool $99 and it looked like it was in really nice shape...this is an SX Furrian "Fat" Tele (so named for the humbucker in the neck position).
Just arrived today and it's definitely a winner...nearly new minus a scratch by the pickguard and some nice grain in the maple neck. Plays really well, stays in tune great. Pickups are just "decent", but I wouldn't expect to be blown away by stock pickups on a <$200 guitar to begin with. I have several great humbuckers lying around so I'll find the right one to upgrade it with down the line. The bridge pickup however is VERY tele-ish and perfect as is, so I'll probably leave it be. Love the neck shape and the fretwork is great.
Putting some pics here below, and especially for @Mossman and @Floridian FX who can't see any of my pics here they are again over on Imgur :
NGD - Slowhand Gets an SX
Great score! I got my P90 Furrian for the same price a couple years ago when it was on sale at Rondo. It should have been a B-stock, as it has a finish crack at the neck pocket, but the neck is stable, so I didn't feel right asking for an additional discount.
And thanks for the additional pic. As usual, I am unable to view the other two.

Thanks! The Imgur link should have two photos (front and back), same ones I posted below. Let me know if you see those, maybe I'll just use Imgur from now on if that's viewable for everyoneMossman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 6:36 pm Great score! Thanks! Here's a messy improv clip I just threw down on it, bone stock and with fresh strings that I kinda almost sorta stretched properly . Not the worst tones for a $99 cheapie!

Imgur looks like the way to go, but I'd still like to know why I can't see the pics when you post them using your usual method.

It is weird! I use the same exact method as here (just posting them to "postimages.org" and pasting the "hotlink for forums" link into the body of the post) on TGP and there are never any issues. I feel like it must be something with your browser or your settings because it looks like everyone except you and @Floridian FX can always see 'em.Mossman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 11:27 pmYeah, I noticed the arrow on the side of the image after I posted my last message.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 6:41 pmThanks! Either way, I'll just use Imgur from now on since no one seems to have issues seeing the pics when I do that .

It looks like it is my firewall at work. I just went back and checked your previous posts at home and all your images show up. So it looks like I am going to have to spend more time on AGF at home!slowhand84 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 11:46 pm

I turned off my firewall, but I still couldn't see the pics on my computer. Just for the heck of it, I tried using the Onion browser with the firewall on (I hadn't tried that browser the last time), and I could see the pics with Onion, but still no luck with Firefox, Chrome, Edge, or Brave. However, I am able to view the pics with the mobile versions of those browsers on both my phone and iPad.

Update after having some time with it, this is definitely a keeper! I found a Bareknuckle Rebel Yell neck pickup I had lying around in my parts bin that'll be perfect for this thing so it'll go in there next week. Some people think it's silly to put a $150 pickup into a $160 guitar, but I only paid $80 for it so it'll work .
I never understood the whole: "This guitar didn't cost much, therefore I can't spend much money on upgrades" philosophy. The way I see it, if you spent less money on the guitar, then you have MORE money for upgrades... not less. What doesn't make sense to me is spending $2k on a guitar and then throwing $300+ worth of pickups into it. I say if a Squier or an SX isn't "worthy" of upgrading to your satisfaction, then it's not even worth owning.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 1:36 pm Update after having some time with it, this is definitely a keeper! I agree with ya. Kinda like the sum of it's parts type thing.Mossman wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 2:51 pmI never understood the whole: "This guitar didn't cost much, therefore I can't spend much money on upgrades" philosophy. Your $2k guitar should need nothing, for all intents and purposes. A $200 guitar is that price because the factory didn't invest time into details and finish, we usually are willing to and that includes upgrading electronics.
I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but if you go on just about any other guitar forum (like the Gear Page, for example ), you'll run into that kind of thinking. I believe it all comes back to fear of other people's judgement:ID10t wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:16 pmI agree with ya. "I can't invest more than half of what the guitar cost to upgrade it... The internet says that's stupid... I'll get roasted by all the resident know-it-alls on the forums!"

Well, there was an ad in my local CL for a Fender Strat $99.
I phoned the guy & was told he loaned his ex-brother-in-law $99 to buy the guitar but had never been paid back.
Now that he was an "ex" the Strat got repossessed and he wanted to get his $99 back.
He lived about 3 miles from me so......I looked at it & handed him a $100 bill.
One of the pups was wide open, I emailed a friend who was a Fender guy and asked what are good Strat pups.
He said EMG, So I put $300 pups in a $99 guitar.
It is what they call a "Black Label Strat" & the only other person I know who owns one is @peskypesky
And Paul's is even the same color, but I dunno what pups he has in his?
Don't ask about the $125 SX in my avatar.

I'm not trying to derail this thread, but, now you know 2 other people. I bought one of those after graduating high school in '97. It was my 1st brand new guitar. A MIM Fender Traditional Series, with an all black Fender label. Almost all original....the only mod is Gotoh locking tuners.mickey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:48 pm Well, there was an ad in my local CL for a Fender Strat $99.

At first I thought, "wow, piano like tone". Then I realized that was a piano sounded very good. Was that the hb or bridge pickup? I actually fairly like the bridge pickup in my furrian. But like your tone it just doesn't sound like a tele. I find mine to be a nice but neutral tone.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 7:31 pmThanks! Thanks! That clip was the neck humbucker, when I think of tele tone I don't really think of a neck humbucker with a distortion pedal like the clip that I put up but it just happened to be what I was playing at the time. To my ears it certainly sounds like a tele on the bridge pickup with that brightness and snap, I'll have to record another clip this weekend with just a clean tone and maybe my compressor and that should bring out the tele-ness in this thing quite a bit.nomadh wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 9:54 pmAt first I thought, "wow, piano like tone".
