I have a set arriving today @sabasgr68 :)

Thanks for the update!!

I wasn't confident that I would get the refund, but decided that I could use one anyway and the Line6 offering is £160, so I thought it was worth throwing £33 in the ring and see if this one is any good :)

Thing is that Ed got a wireless system from Lekato, and it´s actually very similar to @Flatline Joyo´s - for not saying the same, only with a different brand name -. The good thing is that you can get it for free if you catch up Lekato´s free offering on Facebook or Instagram. I was with Ed in the whole process, and it works this way: You buy the device, post a review on Amazon, and they refund 100% of the cost. Prior to that they ask you for your Amazon public profile, proof of purchase - the order number -, and the link to the review once you´ve done it, and that´s it. You can get one for free.

They offer several products for free with this method.

I knew about them thanks to @ID10t who owns one - the UHF version IIRC - and he´s very pleased with them, so I started to follow Lekato´s pace -Yes, there are several brand names on almost the same products: Getaria (@Tonray's Ghost got one), amoon (@nomadh ), etc., but only Lekato offered the free option -. I asked them several times about their free offerings, but of course, I was afraid to risk on ordering one and not having the refund - $40 represent good money here -. I told about it to Ed in one of our conversations, asking if it seemed legit to him - to see if that would help me get the push to do it :) -, and he said that he was actually giving some thought on getting one of those wireless transmitters, and that he could do it first to see the truth about it. He did his research, and, long story short, it´s true, they did refund 100%. Our model is the ws-80 2.4 GHz (BTW, yes, Lekato´s free offering worked as they said, @UrenragK :)).

So, @tobijohn , you might want to give it a try. Just follow Lekato on facebook and look for their free offerings. They have UHF, 2.4 and 5.8 Ghz models. If you do follow them would you let me know? I told them that I will spread the word on their offerings in my guitar group, and in return they will still offer me some other free things, I just need to tell them who did it because of me :) - and anybody else who follow Lekato too from AGF, let me know, please -.

That is awesome! It looks just like a re-labeled version of the Joyo brand I picked up. I was actually looking at those when I bought mine only Joyo had a 15% off coupon and Lekato was 10% so I went with the Joyo. I hope you enjoy your set and it works well for you.

If you were conducting a guitar tech competency exam, this is what you would use. Absolutely everything that needs to be adjusted so that it could be played, needed to be - relief, intonation, string height, pickup height, everything. On top of that, it will definitely need a fret level, I had to intonate to the 11th because of the full note shift at the 12th (also at the 3rd and a bunch more). A goodly number of fret ends will need attention as well. Speaking of string height, the treble side anchor just spins in its hole so no way to adjust it up or down.

In it's favor, the finish is stunning, no cosmetic imperfections, the tuners work well, the pickups can stand on their own, the nut is cut well, full size pots that have a nice feel to them with big orange caps and Switchcraft style toggle.

I guess I'll be moving this post to the "What's on your workbench" thread. I'm going to see if they'll kick back at least $25 for my troubles in making this thing playable. I know these issues come with the territory but I've been lucky with my last dozen or so cheapies. Despite all my bitching I don't regret the purchase, right now I'm just not in the mood for another project:
Is it me or is your fret spacing out of wack?
I have one of these coming (honeyburst righty) and I dont have high hopes right now....

It must be the angle of the picture. The individual notes are fine, just a big bunch of high frets. There seems to be quite a bit of chatter on the Firefly FB group page about the QC slipping lately...

The QC was a problem from the get go, but the feeding frenzy and fanboyism buried it for a while.

So they contacted me to say they won't be refunding because it was May, not April - AND the kit hasn't turned up yet

Well, that was what I was afraid of: that they would give you any "valid and legal" reason for not refunding. Anyway, don´t lose hope. Tell them that you did it because of me - say my name (Sabas Gonzalez); I went back and forth that much with them that they might not forget my name -, that I was so pleased and happy that I spread the word to my guitar friends. I don´t know...

You mean the kit isn´t working? Well, that would be a reason to get a refund or a replacement.

Picked up a used Ibanez Weeping Demon this past weekend. I've only had about 30 seconds to play around with it, but I'm still trying to decide whether I like it more than my Bad Horsie 2. I think I like the tone of the Bad Horsie a little better, but I like the sweep of the Weeping Demon better - the BH has that thing where it feels like most of the change in the wah occurs within one degree of the pedal's travel.

Just got this local market, Eastman E10D

Image

Haven’t had much of a chance to play it yet but so far so good. Neck is a little thicker than I’m used to but not dramatically so (more like the J45 studio than the others). Sounds great though and from the little plugged in testing I’ve done it might be a candidate for main jam guitar

Should be a great guitar! I have an E10-OM (that is E ten OM) and it is a GREAT guitar.
And yes, the neck is a bit thicker than I was expecting but you adjust, the more you play it! :D

I got the spalted 338 earlier last year and it was outstanding. Already played it onstage 4 or 5 times now. Looks, playability even the pickups are a good tone.

Apparently the really egregious Firefly QC issues began in the last few months. I've got a blue burst 338 from when they first showed up a few years ago that was fine...

I picked up a Fender Performer HSS loaded pick guard to replace the SSS configuration in my Performer strat. It should arrive in a few days.

I bought 2 of these (one for me & one as a gift) the shipping was more than the radios.
They are Software Defined Radios (SDR) which means there is almost nothing inside them.
A built in battery will power for a week or more and is rechargable via USB port (which is also how you do software upgrades.)
They tune 300kHz to 30mHz AM/FM/SSB/CW plus the FM broadcast band (with about 10 mHz extra on either end) both mono & stereo.

I’ve played it a good bit now and played it during the jam this last weekend and have some stronger opinions: Really like it! It’s actually got a LR Baggs element piezo which I don’t hate (have to turn the tone down on it a little but the tone actually works!) and the thing sounds great acoustically; it’s a cannon, much louder than the Gibson J45 Studio Rosewood which itself is louder than my other dreadnoughts. Love that, you can really feel it and dig into it and it responds in kind. Very happy with it for the price, no longer really feel like I need a D-18 (although I suspect they sound significantly different).

I got it on eBay, shipped from China, so I think it should be available there.
Incidentally, the FM broadcast of stereo is stereo if you use headphones.

Finally after 65 years on this planet I am Well Hung. I contacted Brad to make a strap for my Gibson G-45 and this was a great experience. After a few emails everything was ready to go materials, color, length and width then a very few days later it was finished and in my mailbox along with several "Bonus Gifts". He absolutely nailed it this strap is beautiful, comfortable and incredibly well made I was so impressed that I'm going to have him make one for my electrics oh yea he also made me a set of straplocks. I can't recommend Well Hung enough.
Thank you Brad it was truly a pleasure doing business with you and outstanding strap you made for me.
