Depends on the guitar color, but white, mother of toilet seat, or something generally neutral is usually best.

Assuming this project actually happens, the specs will most likely be exactly the same as the AD-2250 (flat top, mahogany body, maple neck, two P-90s, separate volume/tone controls, TOM bridge, etc).

So how about some finish suggestions other than TVY, 2TS and cherry that maybe someone besides yourself would also find appealing?

I could see myself with a Vintage White ( like the old AD-201 ) or maybe LP Blue?

I would be more interested in guitars with new tonal options from uncommon features. For example, I only have one Les Paul Recording type guitar and have never seen another for sale (lefty), but would buy more along those lines because they can do a lot more tonally.
You could have the only lefty Les Paul Recording.
Dunno if you've noticed but rightys are about as common as hen's teeth!

Oh I sure wish I did. Mine isn't a Gibson though. It's a copy briefly made by Revelation, called the RLR. Still one of my favorite guitars because I can get great humbucker, P90, and single-coil tones with and without phase reversal out of it!

OH! Ok! I never knew anyone made any clones. I've only ever seen a single righty Gibson.
Now I doubt if there were ever any leftys. :(

Yeah, I've been watching for years for a lefty Gibson Recording. I am sure I would overpay for one. Ibanez and Greco also released copies.

I once knew a guy who used an Agile AL 2/3000 to make his own. (Dunno whether he used a 2xxx or a 3xxx.)
Wound his own pups for it.
If I tried that I'd have to "cut two grooves in it and call it an ashtray." (To quote Bill Cosby.)

Uh-oh. Now I have to fight off that idea. The original owner of mine thought he had a pickup problem and Revelation sent him a second set of pickups - I have them safely stored, awaiting the right project. I also haven't counted my Agiles lately. The route would be a very odd one. These are stacked pickups (but one inner, one outer coil) that look like extremely fat single coils. Guess a picture would help. I would have to make the rings, because I just have the spare raw pickups. Oops, sorry, maybe this should be its own thread.

FYI, I had a deal with that guy and just before we were to complete it, he said he wanted to to take one last crack at getting the pickups tp work. I never heard from him again. I've always wondered what happened with it, now I know...

Sorry we collided, I had no idea. Like I said though, if I see another RLR I will let you know. If I see a Greco or Ibanez or Gibby, I'll have to go after it.

Always wanted a lefty like my dad's

Personal.

Wish someone would make one like this instead of the Recording. The Custom accoutrements fit this style much better.

No collision, he must have subsequently relisted sometime later and I just never saw it...

I think I'ld like the look of an Agile doublecut if the horns where both the same size/shape as the Agile AL singlecut horn.

I'm thinking this looks pretty good, just picture it with two soap bar P90s and a TOM:

The problem with that is the proportions are kind of weird. We tried it when we first were brainstorming the AD-3200MCC. Images of the mockup were posted on the old site but I'm not sure if it's accessible anymore. I saved a PDF copy of that entire thread, let me see if i can find and extract those pics. You'll see what I mean when I say it looks wonky with symmetrical AL horns. The ones used on the AD-3200MCC were actually from the Harm short horn...

I still say he should just re release every LP model he's done over the last 15 as a double cut model and he could sucker us all into rebing our whole collection. Not just the AGFD suckers but all us gas hounds everywhere. :)

I'll pass that suggestion on. I'm definitely going to ask about a future AD-3100MCC...

An AD-3100 would be of interest to me. I had to send my AD-3200 back because the neck was so slim. I much prefer the AL-3100 necks.

So any preference on the body shape for a potential AD-2xxx? a flat top version of the current AD-3200MCC or the one @TVvoodoo came up with?

FWIW- Hasnt Rondo offered a DC Special already? I think they did. I have the Jr version. Would Kurt want to go after something he already tried?

My guitar preferences are too conservative for what everyone else wants. No candy colors or bologna for me.

If Kurt wanted to make a go at a ES295 I'm all ears.
