Here is my new Hagstrom Viking Deluxe Tremar guitar that I finally got around to playing the other day! Very impressive guitar! I’m sure you are familiar with the song I am playing in the video!

I had one of those years ago. It sounds nice Joe.
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."

Very nice. I keep trying to justify the nearly $800 after taxes and shipping GC wants for a used lefty Super Viking.

That is definitely the real deal! It looks like Hagstrom guitar Elvis played in the 60s. I believe that Hagstrom is reissuing this model in black and red finishes.

That price sounds to be a bit high considering a brand new Super Viking is $949. I would say a used one in good condition should go for $750 or a little less, depending on what condition it is in.

@mickey Actually I checked after posting and it was high. After shipping and 9.5% tax it came to $730 so good price. But the hard question to myself is do I want a green Gretsch or a red Hagstrom? If I could play like Joe the Viking would win

I'd go with the Gretsch. I like their necks & do not like Hagstrom necks. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Mickey. Go for the Gretsch.

I’d check both guitars out to see what you like better. I am not all that familiar with Gretsch guitars and never have owned one. But they do have different types of pickups than what Hagstrom uses. I don’t go by brand names, the sound is the most important thing. Even if the feel of the neck is slightly different that is something you more than likely can get used to.
