I've been sitting here all day long waiting on FedEx to deliver a shipment.
About an hour ago their website popped up with: Delivery Exception. Street Address.
So I phoned them.
I was told the package was incorrectly addressed, no such street address.
Unfortunately, I've been sitting here all day long AT THE ADDRESS ON THE SHIPMENT!
Waiting on FedEx.

Ok, today was wasted and if they couldn't find me today, will they be able to find me tomorrow???

The thumbs down is for Dedex, not you.

I had the same thing happen some years ago. I stood on my porch and watch the Dedex tuck drive right past my house twice. I was waving and hollering the second time he came by. I got the same no such address notice. Called them and told them it was pretty strange that my address didn't exist, because they had delivered to my house many dozens of times before, and btw, my house was (at that time) 95 years old and hasn't moved an inch since it was built.

Incidentally, I was not given a choice as to which shipper would handle the shipment.
It was like "We use FedEx."
Better than UPS in my opinion because they refuse to deliver to this address.

I had an incident like that here in Thailand...I use the local "Amazon" called Lazada and never have any issues...prefect delivery every time. I ordered some guitar parts from a local shop (I could have picked them up more easily...it's only a mile away) and the shop kept telling me they would cancel my order if I didn't provide them with a proper address (seeing that I used the exact same address that I always use...puzzled). Finally had to call the guy and in my awful Thai...explain that I was only less than 2 KM away and all he need do was look at Google Maps for my development. What a stumphead.

Similarly, I am currently finding USPS "tracking" is of little help, and often goes totally off radar once it gets close to arrival day, or becomes late.

Good luck with your waiting.

Just got a notice myself that a shipment (UPS) that was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow is delayed one day because "a late UPS trailer has delayed delivery". Not exactly excited about it but at least they let me know. To be honest I'm pretty amazed at how well most delivery companies have been able to keep things running as well as they have given the circumstances.

Hey I’ll take FedEx any day of the week.

They’re my preferred shipper.

Not their fault the address got dorked up.

Better than Unbelievably Pathetic Service (UPS) any day of the week

The address on the package was correct.
They have delivered to that address for more than two decades.
Methinks the FedEx guy was just being lazy.
Strangely, they had no problem finding my non-existant address the following day.

Yeah...I've seen these guys screw up intentionally after getting harassed by management about not making schedule...so they throw a wrench into the works to make boss's day a little harder...it's human nature. I worked a couple of Xmas seasons helping sort at UPS....saw it first hand and overheard the drivers say pretty much exactly that

Better than marking it delivered when they actually didn't (or at least not to you) which is what happened to me last week...

Every year about this time they have a big temp hiring phase. Also, the shipping co's rent all of the box vans they can get ahold of. Good luck moving around Nov/Dec. There's just too much. Let's not forget the covid slows everything down.

Third world problem.
