Well, at one time i did want to try this but it seems rather dangerous now i read a few articles of people killed trying it. The one where they use a microwave transformer is kind of stupid, it has lower voltage but the amps will kill you. Even the neon sign transformer has 10 times less current it is still more than enough to make it your very last project.
Well, i'll skip this refinish method

It is very cool-looking. Harder to kill yourself with spray paint, though. I think if I were going to try anything like this, I'd set it up with everything powered off, then stand back and flip the big red switch...and then stand by the switch ready to cut the power at any moment, with a fire extinguisher handy.

That'd make for a hot guitar!
I'll be here all week, try the fish.....

They often use a foot switch so you have to press down to complete the circuit. If you did get shocked chances are you would release the switch as you fell down. The way that video is burning very fast and with flames, i'd say they are using the microwave oven transformer which is about the most dangerous way to do it.

Looks amazing. Just wish the lava/fire look remained after the power is cut. Beautiful. Wonder what caused someone to first think about trying it??
