I think RLP wrote us off once he learned there is NO "Google Free" area on this board.
(On the old board the "Members Only" area was restricted and search engines such as Google could not access it.)

Pesky is probably out exploring the world & enjoying life (for a change) after serving a 20-odd year sentence of living in NYC.

Much of the problem is there just isnt so much going on here. It was trending that way before momo or covid. I was hoping covid would actually give it a boost. Some of us essential workers are actually more busy now. It's actually a trend since before we moved from agileguitarforum. It seems to be a time of consolidation. If I want new content I need to go check out tdpri or squiertalk these days.

I miss a lot of folks, some who never made it here, some who came over but rarely post. I am guilty of decreased content myself. I just about can't force myself to take pictures and upload them anymore, much less bring them to the board. Everything seems like more trouble than it is worth. Not just pictures, not just web boards. But I have completely dropped several web boards of many years standing.

Agreed. As much as people try to ignore, deny or hope that Covid just “goes away”, the reality is inescapable. And it’s getting worse each and every day unfortunately.

Having said that this is still one of my “happy places” and I will continue to hang out for sure.

Yeah there isn't much new to see here anymore, though I still drop by almost every day. I still like hearing what you guys are up to, going through, or wanting. I don't really buy cheap guitars much anymore, but I don't post much if at all on the PRS forum that I frequent, because no matter how nice of a PRS i get, someone over there is buying their 15th Private Stock or wrote a new jingle in some new movie or commercial. I don't fit in over there, I fit in here, just don't have that much to say on my own. MLP is nothing but complaining about how Gibson has done x or hasn't done y. Some good build threads, but all of my guitar building is on hold for the most part.

Yeah, COVID definitely has a factor on my psyche, and part of it is keeping me away from being super active here, as well as guitar in general.

I went from playing ~40 shows a year to 5 this year (and none of them being big, fun ones in front of a few thousand people). That takes drive away from this for me. I'm also not making money playing guitar because of it, so I don't have the money in my fund to buy gear to show off here.

It HAS given me time to work on my original recording stuff, which mostly stays in the songwriting demo stage as I collect songs to put together into a project, so not much to share. I've also shifted a bunch of my musical attention to making content for TikTok, which is pretty much the exact opposite of this forum, both in terms of audience as well as viewing method. I've already tried embedding a TikTok video in a post here to show off a minute-long cover I made, but couldn't get it to work.

Also, and very mostly. I've just lost motivation, ambition, and drive throughout this. It takes most of my will-power to stay active and run a few times a week and try to go out and do stuff by myself, which is difficult. My usual social life of hanging out with a bunch of people in the local scene at a bar isn't going to happen now.

I cant believe how little this has affected how I live my life. I'm no social butterfly but I had to keep working throughout. Im in office, doing all the it now managing a lot of a remote work force now too. I do my 2 walks a day to clear my head. My kid moved out but he liked going nowhere ever s owe bounced between our house and his. I was bummed about not playing music with anyone for about 3 months but we all got sick of that and started jamming again. I guess I just refuse to live like I'm already dead. I wear a mask about an hour a day. Maybe 2 sometimes. And that's about the max I could put up with. Don't know how people do it for 8 or 10 hours a day. Maybe if I Was actually around people more I could get better at it but who wants to be around that many people that long anyway. My wife still has to sell animals. Most of those people don't care about masks. I've had to rent out a house. I think they only wore a mask because I did. Just had 5 people in a group of friends all get covid. 1 in the 50's others in 70's the one guy married to one that go it is in his 80's has con heart failure, and current cancer didn't even get it from his wife. These oldsters barely felt it. My wifes aunt did die of it. But not really. She had dementia coming on strong plus no one could visit her (for her health). Found out she never got anyone in there to even fix her tv or get her internet working. I wonder what zero input for 6 months does to a dementia patient. I know a good friend that lost her job. Her son went crazy overprotecting her. Scared her into not even walking the neighborhood, her arthritis went on overdrive and she gained 30 lbs. Fighting her way back to her old healthy self. People afraid to leave their house and wiping everything down while guys at walmart work overtime dealing with thousands a day and it was like black friday for 3 months.

I have nothing to back this up other than a hunch but I still visit 2 or 3 Forums. It was 5 but I scaled back and it seems for the past couple years they have all been slowing down. Trends change and things evolve. As already stated the idea of taking pics is daunting. Of course the last guitar I purchased was a Gretsch Streamliner and I have ZERO gas. To some extent some folks (myself included) feel like their lives are on hold. My routines and activities due to the Covid have changed dramatically. And also all this political stuff (NO I am not initiating a conversation about politics) is almost impossible to avoid and is truly taxing. I try to stay upbeat but I fear this thing will go in well in to 2022 and folks are REALLY burned out with this virus.

Heck I spent 2 weeks researching soundbars and finally purchased one and may be returning it. Making major decisions seems beyond difficult. Oh well...

Guilty. As a teacher, I've actually put in more time converting and creating content for online classes, as well as taking on a position full-time on the college side (lots more classes than high school).

With Covid, I also haven't been experimenting/building amps and effects or buying cheap guitars. Oddly enough, I've spent more of my free time doing home maintenance and other chores instead of playing.

I still check new posts almost daily, but often don't have anything to contribute.

Sorry I've been absent lately...5th Kidney Stone in the last 10 years. This one was a Whopper at 7mm and embedded in the the right side Whiz Tube Wall which required surgery. While I was under they did a Prostate Biopsy...20% chance of Cancer in the next 10 years. I'm 67 and I like those odds.

Recovery from the Stone has been a 3 week MOFO Nightmare between meds that totally FUBAR'd me, frequent visits to the Porcelain Prince selling Used Buicks and blood clots in my bladder that didn't allow me to take a Whiz for 3 days eliciting INCREDIBLE pain and discomfort. They finally broke up and I passed them...shocked the hell out or me looking at THREE finger length clots floating in the bowl and look at my Johnson asking it how the hell you pushed them out..."YOU DA MAN!" LOL!

One top of that I lost ALOT of weight (for me) as a result...I'm down to 120lbs and 5'11".

Feeling better the last few days and appetite is slowly coming back.

Other than all that, not much has been going on at my end.

This is the first time I've been here in a while. My mother, who has been reasonably healthy all of her life, has been going through multiple serious health problems over the past several months and I've been trying to do my part by helping her out and staying in the hospital with her when necessary. I've also been beyond busy at work trying to make up for lost time in the two days a week I can go in. The rest of the time, I'm virtually on the clock as I have colleagues who like to communicate about work regardless of the time.

My son is going back to school in-person for 1 day/week now and the rest is remote learning, which seems to be benefiting him. It is costing a fortune to have him in a program where he can remote learn while my wife and I work. I've also had to re-start our Scout meetings and am in a situation where my wife and I are the only active leaders, and we are moving on in February, so a lot of stress for the kids left behind unless their parents decide to take on leadership roles. I've been playing guitar, but not a ton.

Scouting is very difficult right now - especially without parents willing to help. Our troop has remained active through almost all of this mess, doing stuff virtually back in March/April but we've been doing smaller patrol camps/day events outdoors pretty successfully. It's a great program and provides experiences they aren't getting in school even for those who are back in school at some level. Keep it up, it's worthy work. Shoot me a PM if you like, woudl be happy to share some of the thigns we've been doing.

Yikes, that sounds horrible indeed. I just turned 50 and had to have my first colonoscopy and thought that was a pain, but in context it was a virtual cakewalk. Glad to hearyour biopsy went well, i had one poly too so they did a check but it was not even pre-cancerous so don't have to do it again for 10 years. One of my old neighbors was prone to kidney stones too and I recall the agony he went through, i am very glad you are at least rid of that sucker.

Sorta pissed me off!
After having to go thru with all the prep crap, they never found anything!

A good friend from our high school days is a retired RN who worked in the cancer dept in one of Atlanta's huge hospitals.
She has told me numerous times that most men over 70 die with prostate cancer. NOTE: That is WITH and not OF.

My brother used to have loads of trouble with kidney stones. His doctor proscribed that he should drink beer (he has never liked beer)
funny thing is I had been telling him to drink beer for ages. You've never heard of a beer drinker with kidney stones, have you?

Excellent observation. There's a lot of that "WITH" going around these days, killing young intrepid biker accident victims who get recorded as a "beer" casualty (and I'm not talking about kidney stone malty beverage). Reality is imitating South Park.

I wonder if most people also die with cholecystitis and tooth decay.

I’ve been quiet, my left wrist has been hurting so I can’t fret a neck without discomfort, so no guitar playing since early pandemic days.
I’ve just been bummed, tired and overwhelmed all at the same time. I’ve got some personal issues, and health issues that I’m working through.
I hope to be more active on this forum as I’m working on getting my head, and personal problems, sorted out.
And, teaching all online is fucking exhausting.
