Scored a Fender Sidekick Reverb 20 but has a non working speaker. How many ohms were the original speakers in these?

The speaker will not measure properly because something is wrong with it and it does not work, but the amp worked and tested fine with a 4 ohm speaker just to test out really quick. I dont like the idea of running a 4 ohm speaker because it might not be the same ohms as the original. I cant find any info out there anywhere about this original speaker. Anyone know what ohms the original speakers were on the sidekick 20 reverbs? Thanks for your help in advance!

Most likely a 8 ohm. Can't find much except people who swapped out the speaker, they don't say how many ohms. It also says they are decently made amps and the speaker is the cheapest part.

I don't know how to interpret that, but I'm sure that somebody here can. The amp has operated flawlessly since I've owned it and has what I'd call legitimate Fender clean chime. It is said that Paul Rivera designed this amp.

They really are amazing little amps, and yes Paul Rivera helped design this amp. Thank you for that speaker code, I will try to look it up and see what I can find. I might be getting an Eminence GA10-SC64 10" speaker for it. Can anyone tell me if a small wattage speaker like this that is only 20 watts be adequate enough for the 20 watts the fender sidekick 20 reverb puts out, or should I go for a bit of a higher wattage speaker? Ive heard really great things about this Eminence but am worried it might not be enough to handle the fender. Here is the speaker info from eminence and Im about ready to pull the trigger, but would like to know your guys opinions before I get it...

Even though it says 20w the amp is probably a bit less. Even though the speaker is rated at 20w you should be fine. Did you check out WGS speakers, should be cheaper than $85. Also the Jensen mod line get good reviews and is cheaper.

Well I contacted Fender today and they gave me the story about the speaker and I figured I should respond just incase someone else down the road would need this info as well. Its an 8 ohm, 20 watt speaker. The eminence is exactly that, 8 ohm and 20 watts and from what I can tell this would be the best direct speaker to replace the stock one if its not working or just as an upgrade in general over the fender branded speaker. I just ordered the eminence, and thank you guys again for all of your help!

That's a Peavey speaker. I know they made their own for some models but Eminence was close by so it could be rebranded also.

A Weber Signature 10 will bring out the best in that thing. Ceramic mag to preserve the bark it has, alnico to compress more if you play it loud. The plain cone to warm the tone, the S cone if you want it brighter. Pay attention to the dimensions and be sure it will fit in the amp: it should. Caveat: Your baffle board is made of MDF and the studs are probably pressed in from the front side. If the speaker is held in by elastic stop nuts they may provide enough resistance to spin the studs in the MDF when you try to remove them. I'd test this out before I put down money on another speaker.
