Well, I happened to check gc used this morning and they had one for 250 at the Natick MA store.
I've always wanted one so...order is placed. I wasn't crazy about the increased price tag if getting one via rondo (I think they're 450/500 new now)
This will be my 4th Agile Silverburst. As long as its not a turd I plan on keeping this one! I've not had a 3100 Silverburst yet. I've had a 2k, Dauntless, and my first Agile back in 06 was a 2800 after seeing Tool live.

I plan on making my own versions of JB and 59 for it ;)

I saw that one. Thought about buying it, but they didn’t have a picture of it up yet. Glad someone here got it. Seems like a great price for a 3100!

Great buy! I love the silverbursts. My first Agile ever was a silverburst Valkyrie, which quickly led to a large stream of 3100s / 3000s! Does the one you bought have the block LP custom style inlays? I know a bunch of the silverburst runs did!

Dude, that's a sweet price! I've never had a silverburst, but it's on my list.

Hey there Tim, glad to see you made it over here with us! Actually just posted about that Silverburst (and a Valkyrie Prestige) here the other day, happy to see you grabbed it cuz I remember you were on the hunt for one of these. Let us know how it turns out...and once yours arrives we can compare weight. Mine is quite a beast at just over 11 lbs, but one of my favorite Agiles I've ever owned over many years.

Haha yessir, good ole GC used. You got a pretty similar deal with this one, mine had been professionally refretted with stainless frets and had a Duncan JB in the bridge for something like $240. Either way I wouldn't hesitate to pay five times that for one of these (resale value aside, just talkin' quality for the $) and I'm sure you'll feel the same :).

Hi, Tim.

What kind of sound can one expect from a JB? What music style are they better at? (Tim, or anyone)

Thanks!

The JB is pretty hot/high output. Emphasized lows and mids. Great for leads. Pretty versatile for rhythm as well. I would say it's a rock/metal/punk pickup, as long as you aren't concerned about a really tight/cutting treble response. Alnico 5 magnet

I LOVE this pickup in my strat. Lots of folks use them in LPs
frogs love to eat flies,
the devil's name, Beelzebub, lord of the flies
evil spirits love to spiritually feed upon those whom Beelzebub rules

I see why it was only 250. No damage other than a small ding or 2.
Man is it filthy though. It'll clean up though

Yeah it looks like it needs some work, I get those on occasion. You’ll make it right.

I’m very interested to hear what your JB pickup sounds like, maybe you have a link to tone example?

I really have never posted clips to be honest.
I'd like to eventually get to that, but life has been getting in the way. One day.
