Not crazy about the color choices....but I seem to be inexorably drawn to the Jazzmaster...and I do have a vacant spot on the wall...

I briefly owned a Vintage Modified Jazzmaster that I bought about 8 years ago...the frets were awful, it felt light as a feather and a bit cheap (much different than the VM Strat I had at the time, but I still remember the pickups were the most amazing thing I have ever played...I sold it after a month to make room for a 335 type (which I will always regret selling to make room for something or other).

Anyway...it looks like I am headed for this....the only two impediments are (1) the exchange rate here has been cratering...down from 36 baht to the dollar in 2015 to 31 now (Thanks FEDERAL RESERVE...and irresponsible lawmakers)...and the current hit is about $480 bucks..which is almost a 20% premium to the USA price. I hate to get stiffed....(2)....waiting for my second stimulus check...I think it gets ordered immediately because if I dither on the decision.....my cheapo-ness will take hold and stop me.

Love Jazzmaster pickups as well as the 2 switchable circuits. I think you have to replace that missing JM.

I don’t think you can go wrong with a CV Jazzmaster. I really like my Squier Deluxe model.

I just saw this video yesterday. Guy goes into the pros and cons of his CV Jazzmaster. Personally I find him a bit annoying but he does point out a few issues (like the vibrato screw). All seem workable to me. Looks like a nice guitar - I've been looking hard at the CV Jaguars myself.

I really want to try out one of the new lefties, but not a single shop has had one or even the right handed version to feel what they are like. I like my MIC Classic Vibe, but these seem to be a bit different as they are from Indonesia, I believe, so I want to feel one before putting $400 towards one (I've yet to see any discounted much if at all, and likely won't due to Covid...). If they aren't on par with a MIM Fender as my CV Tele and Strat are, there is no way I would get one. I'd rather put that money towards a Partscaster version.

I already bought a loaded Jaguar body because it had the much better vibrato and has SD pickups I could always pop into another guitar or sell to get Jaguar pickups or Jazzmaster ones to use with a new pickguard. I put a cheapo Chinese neck on it as a placeholder, but I am sorely tempted to just buy a super nice Musikraft neck and will still have less into it than just buying the actual Kurt Cobain signature (even a used one)

My CV Strat is definitely on par with a good cherry picked MIM. The Cort factory in Indonesia does good work.

I would splurge on a good neck for that Jag. You won't regret it.

Gearlist: A few LP's, a Strat, a Tele and a few acoustics.

The CV line is right up there at the top of the "best bang for your buck" list. I've never personally seen a CV Jazzmaster, but if they are the same level of quality as the Tele's and the Strats you can't go wrong. I vote for the vintage burst exactly as pictured.

I just sold my AL3010SE, which happens to be just enough to do a sweet Musikraft with roasted maple and I think I like the look of the reclaimed Coney Island rosewood like the sample they have on their site (mirrored by me)

Should go perfect with the 3ts finish.

Though I can't quite decide on the neck profile (they have so, so many) or if I want to splurge on stainless frets...Image
