Gearlist: A tele, a bass and a bunch of other stuff.

I wrote this song about Super Man and Lois Lane breaking up. We recorded it the other night (along with Bad Fish) but I had been playing bass all evening and coudn't play a guitar for the life of me. The banjo player took over on bass. He's done a good job of picking it up.

Anyway, I threw out the guitar tracks and added newbies this afternoon. The solo tone is a bit shrill but I think that it's some of my best playing (Lord knows, I recorded 30 takes).

Very fun tune. I find it a bit reminiscent of The Cramps in it's musical style, playfulness, and mid 20th century pop culture subject matter. Probably could've rolled the tone knob back on that Tele for the leads (I assume that's what you used), but otherwise those licks perfectly fit the song.

@toomanycats That was a really nice compliment. Thanks.

Loved it Tommy! Cool lyrics and I dig the lead tone.

Thanks, @Spike. There are a couple of gaffs in this version but it was practice and we're allowed to make 'em. Ha!

Awesome tune Tommy! I liked it all but that last lick as it was fading when you ending the song, was my favorite. The tone was twangy and did not sound like your 335. What did you use?

Thanks, Jeff! I played my Smelly Tele.

The pickguard is covered in bumper stickers from a local outdoor shop that sells tele equipment. "Tele" in this context is short for "telemark." It's a type of skiing that's hard work (lots of little lunges pieced together to get down a run). Those of us who still do it are somewhat a dying breed.

I really like the guitar. I only have two (the other being the 335 copy) and they both get played regularly.

Tommy, I admire your restraint.

Makes me want to grab a beer! Clever lyrics, and some tasty tone.
