Will watch later. I like do-it-all guitars.

I haven't seen one in real life, but have been watching for them. If I can't try it out, I tend to watch for normal players raving about gear on forums. I trust that far more than YouTube demos, especially when they have flashy players. At that price point, I'm just not going to jump in with both feet, but I will wade in when the time feels right.

Yep, seems like if you need a lefty, you've got to order it yourself from the factory.

I find it a little funny that this review sort of acts like what this guitar offers is something brand new...I literally bought a Godin XTSA a few days ago that does everything this guitar does and it came out almost 20 years ago- it has HSH magnetic pickups, a piezo pickup for the acoustic stuff, the option to blend 'em both, and the additional 13 pin synth access for all the midi stuff. The Godin uses custom RMC electronics which are way pricier and a good bit above the Graphtech Ghost stuff. It's also all just regular wood without any of the carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is cool because of how lightweight it is, but I honestly always prefer real wood on guitars...especially ones where you're going to be doing acoustic-y stuff.

Combine that with the fact that this Emerald model is about $4,000...and I think I'd rather have my Godin that was about half that price new (and I was able to grab used for $700). If someone's after a "do it all" guitar...that's the direction I'd point 'em in.

I went to their website. Cool stuff for sure but they are proud of it. It looks like it would be well worth it though. Very high quality stuff from my view.

25-ish years and counting, apparently. Interestingly the guy behind this also made one of Steve Vai's wildest guitars that was used when the Ultra Zone record came out:

No, looks like they're taking a lot of pointers out of the Ovation playbook.

I guess I'm just old but guitars that can be programed to sound like everything from a tenor sax to a mouse fart as well as everything in between somehow is just not my cup of tea and like @slowhand84 I like my guitars to be made of wood.
I still have a nurse coming 2 times a week but my health is doing much better right now and the doctor has backed off of that 6 month deadline he gave me and is now thinking I may have as much as 5 or so years left. So with that said I think I am going to finally buy a high end acoustic. I've always wanted one so I'm going to put it on a credit card payments won't be bad and if I do die before it's paid for who cares because at that point I won't be making anymore payments anyway. Making up my mind as to which one is a problem Martin, Gibson, Taylor, etc and now Yamaha has thrown a new one in the mix the FG9.
