Alright, now I'm hearing some range! That sounds like you on the other rig, so you're making huge progress.

Was it the digital vs. analog connections that you mentioned a few days ago?

I don't know if it was intentional, but on my speakers, the lead guitar volume is too low and lost in the mix. Almost like it was "drowning."

Yep the leads were an afterthought in that quick little tune. FIrst they were too loud, then they were too low and I got lazy. :)

So the connection helped a bit but I still notice that the helix sounds a bit more digital when recorded despite sounding brutal live.
I ended up ditching the FabFilter stuff I was using and went with Slate Digital stuff. I remixed the whole thing after watching Nolly's masterclass and some stuff with Nick Hill.

I have a ways to go though. I notice that the kick is fighting the bass guitar so I am going to have to side chain a compressor which means I have to load each drum individually so that is a "next week thing". And then the leads need to be ironed out. The mesa boogie type tone I've been using sounds too darn fizzy and scooped so I have to go with something different.
