Xpand 2 Requirements:

Compatible with AU and VST only. (AAX version available in AIR Creative Collection sold seperately)
PC: Windows 10, 8 or Windows 7 Service Pack 1; Minimum Dual Core 2GHz (Intel Core i5 or i7 Recommended)
Mac: Mac OS X 10.8.5-11; Core Duo Processor (Core i5 or i7 Recommended)

I use Samplitude Music Studio on a Windows 10 laptop with i5. 8gb RAM and lots of free drive space.

Which synth is the problem?

That software supports VST3 virtual instruments. Both Xpand 2 and Union provide those versions. I use them in Studio One 5 and Pro Tools.

That DAW may be the issue.
