SX family .
all started as sx, some with neck swaps, mods, etc.. I sold a few liquids a few years back. Have sold a couple Callisto's to friends. Couple basses in the mix, on floor is a 3/4 and a 1/2 scale.

Nice family.

I like the one I pointed out; good looking. Good at playing it?

Hi Sabas, that one is one of 3 similar ,.....SX Mahogany Hawk 2x p90.
IMG_0791.jpg
It has a 25" scale conversion neck, lollar p90's. Plays very nice. It has low action , perhaps the lowest of all my guitars. Crazy flame on body, it shimmers a bit.
Powder blue one has gibson p90's, and tv yellow has a set from Tyson Tone Lab. All three guitars are stellar and have a little different voice. from one to another.

Hi Christopher. Cool. Sort of three different flavors from the same basic dish.

Kind of reminded me of the Squier Paranormal Series StratoSonic in looks - the Stratosonic has the 24.75" scale neck -.

You´re certainly enjoying your SX´s!

PS: Ok, that´s why that guitar in particular has 22 frets, because of the conversion neck; the others have 21 frets.

I see what you mean with the Paranormals.
Yes, 3 flavors of the similar tasty dish:
medium hot, hot, and hot with a surly hot waitress.

So how does someone like Guitars Garden make the Fireflys with stainless steel frets for the prices they are selling for?
And dont they also have locking tuners?

Sad news sx is going away its been a hell of a run! I understand shipping is now high and cost of everything has gone up and not coming down anytime soon. When I saw the news on rondo I jumped on the sx callisto std again lol with amp and bag etc on ebay for 205.00 shipped . The callisto by itself is more than without the amp but why !?.
I figure I better buy any sx i want now before there gone forever. And, Im super happy with the callisto again probably the best ive gotten out of 5-6 over the years. It was def setup and worked on before shipping, action super low, no buzz and super nice, Not 1 flaw sorry firefly u loose again sx murdered it.
I dont need a guitar lol still have my sx callisto custom with quilted top but had to buy 1 more before there gone forever  . Im very tempted on the sx hawk p90 strat with amp for 184.00 before tax on ebay priced stupid cheap cheaper than the guitar alone its nuts. and the amp aint bad at all Im impressed with it to.

I've already got one so I'm good. Using the Rondo inventory hack, it shows two lefty Callistos left.

Maybe if the remaining two had a finish different than the one I've already got...

I´m relieved! I knew there had to be a solid reason for that.

Latest rondo news on sx.
January 17, 2024 Well our customers have spoken and we are listening. For 2024 SX has agreed to let us continue handling their products on a limited basis. We will continue to stock the lap steel models as previously mentioned in November. In additional we will stock a limited number of guitar packages as well as a very small number of SX short scale, medium scale and long scale basses (fretless and fretted). We will also stock the Furrian in the short scale version. Details as to the exact models will follow this spring. Otherwise all Calisto, Furrian, Hawk and Liquid models are discontinued for 2024.

I wonder if the used versions of the discontinued models might get any kind of boost in value. Probably not...

Glad I grabbed the ones I have. I'd bet a few of the models do go up in the used market, but maybe not all.

If I had to bet, I'd say the Liquid appreciates, not so much the others as there are similar models from other sources that are equal or less in price...

I agree on the Liquid, but I also believe that some other models might appreciate in value. For example the SX Leo (strat), Taurus (tele) and Andromeda (Jazz) are all one piece Ash bodies and one piece maple necks. I paid $99 each for my Taurus and Leo and $170 for my Andromeda and I'm pretty sure I could get more than that for them.

Sad f-ing news.

I have four SX's and they were all great bangs for the buck,
Two SX Strats, an SX Liquid, and an SX EG7 jazzbox.

Nothing good lasts forever.... :(
