Kind of in the same situation. Got a set of Dimarzios I want to use, a PRS G&B 5815(S) set, and 6 or 7 sets of Kinmans in the Philippines waiting for my return.

I've no idea how they sound but they are not pickups I could buy. Why? Because they look like the worst pickups in the history of the world...
....the stock ones on Harmony brand guitars in the late 1950's & early 60's. :D

No worries, it's not everyone's thing. Each pickup has its place and everyone is different. Gold Foil style pickups were hands down my most popular pickups when I was selling on reverb.
I think a TV Jones pickup only fits in certain style guitars whereas someone like yourself could put them in anything. To each his own!
