Still not 100% done, but I really like where it is going.
Look forward to your comments on this one.

Speaking as a guitar geek, that is savage. The rhythm tones are bone crunching, the leads are soaring and searing, the technical execution is flawless. It's nearly 8 minutes of absolute guitar fury and I'm exhausted after listening to it.

But if I was to approach that as a bandmate writing songs together, or even as a producer, I'd be inclined to say, "Damn Narsh, there's enough awesome riffs and melodies here to spin off into a half dozen individual songs." That's because I know that not everyone is a guitar geek like you, me, and everybody else on this forum. Most non guitarists have a limited attention span for this type of thing. The thing is, you've got the exact opposite problem of many artists, whose main obstacle is struggling to come up with new ideas. You're suffering from an embarrassment of riches. I swear, you must have posted 1000 songs on AGF since you've been a part of this community. Your creative output is mind boggling.

Don't get me wrong, I truly think it's awesome that a guy like you can, all by yourself in your home studio, compose, perform, and produce such a magnificent piece of music; and what is more, do it exactly the way you want it, with no commercial pressures, purely for the sake of artistic fulfillment.

What guitar did you record this with?

Thanks man, as a guitar geek and non-guitar geek :). Totally appreciate the critique. I used to get that feedback from my old band way back when I was 19-20. They were all great players but were more Iron Maiden and I was more Dream Theater. So that's when I decided that I wanted to make music for me and for me alone. I wanted to share of course but I wanted to stay authentic to what was in my head. Now, my head is very very loud. There is a lot of noise in there and it shows in some of my music. I gravitate mostly to complexity similar to old school composers mixed with Dream Theater or Rush's more complex parts. Similar to YYZ or something like that. Not that I'm anywhere near that in technicality or musicality, just making a comparison. SO yeah, there is a lot going on and I hope to have connected the lunacy of each section seamlessly. (Its great workout music though)

You're a lot close to Rush than any of us will ever be!
