Let's say that a situation arose that you had to give up one of your three most cherished pieces of gear. Which would it be and why?
My three favs:
- Eastman 335 copy
- Fender Baja tele
- Princeton Reverb
I'd let go of the Eastman. It's my favorite guitar but the tele can cover many genres. I'd like to keep the Princeton Reverb forever. It's my dream amp.

My three most cherished pieces of gear would have to be
Les Paul 60s Tribute Goldtop P90
Gibson 335
Martin DRS1 Acoustic electric
I would have to give up the 335. The LP covers everything the band plays and the Martin is my solo acoustic gigging machine.

It would be hard enough to get rid of all my equipment to get to the point that I would have to choose between my top 3 pieces.
Choosing between my most cherished, would be absolute torture!
My top 3:
- AMI Les Paul (the one which took me 3 years to build)
- My late 40's / early 50's Gibson ES125 (was my Dad's)
- Vintage 1964 Fender Vibroverb (estimated to be one of the first ten built of only about 100 ever made and the other survivors owned by
John Mayer, the Stevie Ray Vaughn estate has 2, Joe Bonamassa, etc.)
I'd have to go with the Vibroverb amp. As good as it sounds, I am not a collector or investor and can get tones near to it from other amps. Plus, they easily fetch $4000 to $8000 (market depending), which would help any dire situation I would have to be in to make such a choice.

Heck, it would be impossible.for me to select a top 3.
I can't even decide on which guitars I am ambivalent on to sell.
EDIT: Upon reflection, I would probably let my Jackson SD22JB go. I don't play it enough because I don't want to damage it. I am just not wired to play guitars in even that price range.

So this got me thinking.
Martin D28
Breedlove Discovery Concert CE W2
Bose L1 Pro 16
The guitars were gifts from my wife and I use the Bose for my trio gigs. I would have to say the Bose PA would have to go.

So, @Spike , how do you like the Breedlove? I was reading all about them a couple of years ago and was very intrigued with the models that used "exotic" woods like Myrtle wood. I went to GC in Tampa right around Black Friday and they had a boatload of Breedlove offerings that year on the floor. I went through at least a dozen and none spoke to me in playability or tone. They were all imports. I was so determined that I drove to the Ocala GC and tried another dozen with no success. At the Ocala GC they had a used USA made Breedlove with a spruce top and it was awesome. I probably should have bought it but I passed because I was so stuck in mind on those made of alternative woods. I actually went back later and it was gone.
Is yours made in the USA? I suspect they are much better since they do cost a lot more.

@tonebender, The Breedlove is Chinese. I do like the playability but the tone is meh. It sits by my desk so it gets played every day. She bought for me on Valentines Day last year. She thought it was pretty and I didn't have a white guitar.
That's why I'm keeping that one.

Faves:
Heritage H157
Gibson Explorer
Taylor 414CE
Would have to say by to the Explorer. I did pre-order it as soon as Gibson announced them in 2018 and was super excited to get it, but it isn't half the player the Heritage is. My Taylor was a relative steal at ~$650, but it was a workingman's guitar before it came to me and lived a relatively hard life and has endured some cracks/dings/scratches/etc. and it still plays better than any acoustic I have been able to lay my hands upon.
