I just got flowers, but not for me. It's addressed to a woman I don't know, but the address is mine. The phone number for her on the card is half a country away. I googled her name, and the one match Google found is a Playboy model in the same town as the phone number on the card. I called the florist and told them no such person lives at this address, and they took my number just in case they need to call me back.
I'm not going to dox the Playboy model, because it's probably not her fault, unless maybe she was planning on moving in with me and didn't tell me, probably because we've never met, lol.
But it's weird, because usually when you google a name, you find at least several different people going by that name. This time was just the one. If it's some sort of delivery scam, I have no idea how. I checked my accounts to make sure I didn't get charged, because the card said the flowers were from Steve, and hey, I'm a Steve, just not that Steve.

Be careful and do not scan any QRL codes. There is a phishing scam going around where someone sends you something (typically with someone else's stolen credit card), which is accompanied by a QRL. When you hit it, it infects your phone.

That's good advice. There is no QR, and I agree, I would not have scanned it if there was one.andrewsrea wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:06 pm Be careful and do not scan any QRL codes. I was sure this story was going to end either
"...and that's how I ended up married to a Playboy model"
or
"...and that's how I woke up in a hotel bathtub full of ice without my kidneys."
Still could, I guess.
