i picked up and am reading "Mort" by T. Pratchett on a trip, after reading a recommendation to start with that one from the Discworld series, as a beginner TP reader.
I am hooked, and I do not read fiction, these days.
Anybody into it? Recommendations?
Any Terry Pratchett fans here?

The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

I have only this to add. When Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, was asked in a 2007 interview what he would add to the the 1979 inspirational reading list in the back of the Dungeon Master's Guide (Appendix N), he said this:
"The fact is that I wouldn't change the list much, other than to add a couple of novels such as Lanier's second Hiero yarn, Piers Anthony's Split Infinity series, and the Disc World books."
Though I haven't read the Disk World books myself, for a long time I have meant to, in large part because of Gygax's recommendation.

Some say each Discworld part can be read as an independent part.
I got "Mort" from the local library network, and there very few copies, which I find odd for this fairly well-known and unique author.

Oh yeah, I love Terry's work. And there's a lot of it, but he tended to be more like Roger Zelazny in length of novels...think more around 300-400 pages max, most of the time.

If you want to look at something outside his Discworld stuff, I can highly recommend Good Omens, which he wrote with Neil Gaiman. Its (as of this writing) a standalone book, although Terry gave Neil permission to write a sequel based on ideas they came up with, as Terry passed away shortly thereafter. There also a fantastic Good Omens show on Amazon (I believe) which stars David Tennant, of Doctor Who fame.
