I wonder if people realize the instructions they giving.
This morning for breakfast I had a frozen Asian breakfast bowl.
The preparation instructions say:
"Lift a corner of film to vent.
Microwave on high for three minutes.
Allow to rest for 1-2 minutes.
Stir & enjoy"

Ok, as it is a round bowl, how are you supposed to "lift a corner of film" ???

I had some pot stickers. After frying, the directions said to add 2 cups of water, cover the pan and simmer on low heat for 1-2 minutes until the water was gone. I figure covered on low heat it would take hours for the water to all boil off!

This came on something I had to put together for one of my daughters for Christmas. Both "tools" and "instructions" are spelled wrong. On the outside of the package. Construction did not go well.

You know what, though... As incorrect as it is to say a corner of a circle, it does quickly portray the idea that you lift up a small amount, like if you would do it to a rectangular container. Otherwise, it may be a bit wordy to convey, "lift up a portion of the film around the circle to vent, but not TOO much! Perhaps maybe 15° (0.261799 radians) of the circumference." An idiot would more likely be able to follow the corner method than the latter.
If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.

Well, at least you followed the directions as far as "venting" … 🤓😜🙃🤗

Amazon has become the "Harbor Freight" of my inexpensive electronics purchases. In other words: if I only need to use an item once, I'll buy the cheapest piece of crap I can find from Amazon. The instructions from those items are very entertaining.
