I often feel frustrated when I'm playing a keyboard and I can't blend my cool pitches.

I am readying myself to sell a couple of guitars, and am hopeful that I am ready for the potential emotional pain it will cause. Because I use Kijiji, and that means Kijidiots.

Frig, I am getting annoyed just thinking about it.

Haha... "Kijidiots".

They can only annoy you if you let them. If somebody asks you a stupid question, give them a stupid answer... I think that's fair. Have fun with it. Or don't answer them at all if it's a ridiculous offer. If you get a gut feeling that a particular person may be more trouble than they're worth, you're probably right. Trust your instincts.

Solid advice. Perhaps I expect too much from people. It's an easy way to be disappointed.

They're probably the same people who when you ask about product info on amazon, walmart, home despot, etc., answer "I'm sorry, I don't know …"
Why the hell do they bother to respond? Another 5 seconds of my life I'll never get back.

Heheh... That thought crossed my mind too. Every time I see that on Amazon, I wish there were a reply function in the Q&A section. My theory is that most of those people are older folks who aren't internet savvy, and think Amazon is asking them that question personally, and feel it would be rude not to respond... You know, since Amazon took the time to write to them for their opinion and all. :) The same people who fall for Nigerian prince emails and Microsoft support scams.

Well, I actually succeeded in selling a guitar on Reverb! I wasn't nuts about their fees, of course, but the guitar just wasn't moving locally, and I still made good money on the deal, so I am a happy camper. I still don't know if I would sell a guitar on Reverb again, because packing it is a nuisance, but I might do it for smaller items like pedals.

Before the sale to Etsy, Reverb had caused eBay to lower fees to match Reverb at 3.5% for musical gear only.

Etsy raised Reverb fees to 5%.

I think the same additional money handling fee applied before and after (slightly lower than PayPal and quicker payouts if you sell enough to be a preferred seller).

eBay is still doing 3.5% for guitars.

Who wants an SX SJM-62 for $600?

Lots of "upgrades" and cool mods!

I hope nobody here posted this.

Bought a footswitch for one of my amps on eBay. It was listed with the specific model number.

When it arrives, it is, of course, not that model. *sigh*

Sold a guitar last week. One guy seems really interested, but needs to wait until he gets paid. Fine, but I told him if I get someone coming in at price, I am selling. He has no issue. I keep him informed. After a couple of days, he makes a comment about sending to North Bay. No, that's not five hours away or anything.

Another guy says that he is interested. He vanished for two days. I make a deal to sell on the upcoming Friday. Then he comes back and gets indignant when I won't sell out from under the other guy on Thursday night when I have already made a deal.

I also had a guy ask me if my Nano Legacy Heart attack had a built in speaker.

Conversely, I have sold spare tools with no issues whatsoever. Maybe us guitar guys are the problem?

I dunno, I have had a lot of trouble trying to sell a digital piano recently. Lots of interest, lots of flakes. Maybe it's musical instruments? I had better luck selling tools. But I did recently sell a pedal and some photo gear with extremely minimal drama.

Latest sale on Reverb. Sold a tuner pedal.

2 days after I ship it the buyer messages me saying the address was incorrect. The label was bought through reverb. Will see what happens….

Had someone do that, but before I shipped luckily. I made them contact Reverb to have them update the shipping address since that is auto filled when you buy through Reverb.

They may be able to pay UPS to intercept if Reverb will go out of their way, but I doubt it...

I’m assuming it will be sent back to me if they can’t deliver it to him. It looks like he just forgot to add his apartment number. At least it was a fairly cheap item.

and another guy today. he has an epi casino listed local, it's got some issues but i offer him $50 less than his asking, he agrees, we arrange a meet for sunday which is the day he says he can do it...

and today he marks it sold and when i send him a question about one of the issues he says "it sold, thanks".

honestly, what is wrong with these people that they have so little consideration for being decent to people when they don't--strictly speaking--*have* to be? i mean i'd be a little annoyed if he had messaged me and said, 'hey sorry somebody could meet today where i am already and offered me full asking price"--but that's still less of an asshole move than literally saying nothing.

People's word is worthless nowadays instant gratification society has ruined most everything.

As a seller I've been is reverse situation (if I say I'll hold something I do it). It sucks when someone flakes either direction.

@voodoorat you should message him and say, "Shit, man... I was looking to spend $2500, but I respect that firm price. Good luck with the sale!"

I saw an ad on Kijiji (Craigslist type site) for a guy "looking for a good speaker 16 ohm".

I message the guy - "Hi there, I have a Celestion Vintage 30 here, if you’re interested. I took it out of a Traynor amp I purchased, simply because the amp is designed for an 8 ohm speaker, but someone had swapped in the 16 ohm V30 somewhere along the line. Let me know if you’re interested and make me an offer."

The guy messages back "how much youd be looking for?" [sic].

I specifically asked him to make me an offer, and he responds with this. I'll not be responding.

There is this one local to me. Someone will hopefully tell this guy that his mods and taste don't make a $400 Ibanez a $900 guitar.
