I was going through a few boxes of my guitar stuff - pickups, replaced bridges, tuners, pots, caps, wires, etc. Having it all in boxes isn't the best idea, not easy to find what you're looking for. Obviously clear cheap tackle boxes would work good for smaller stuff, but maybe not pickups. Do you have any photos of how you organize all this junk?

yeah i wouldn't exactly call it organized, but most of my spare parts end up getting tossed in these two bins in the music room closet

that amoeba records bag has some old strat pickguards, etc.

the rest has started to leak out into the rest of the closet...

and then there's this rather discombobulated set of shelves in the corner

usually i know where to find what i'm looking for, but yes maybe some organization/tidying up is in order

I have a metal cabinet with roller drawers that came out of a radio shack. These were the cabinets that had all the capacitors, pots, etc. Got it free when they shut a store down.

I don’t have as much as I used to, but most of mine is in a tackle box and a two sided tool box with adjustable dividers. The tackle box is a Plano from Walmart and the toolbox is a cheapie from Harbor Freight.

One reason I started this: one of my shoe type cardboard boxes with smaller stuff (hardware, wiring components, etc.) had a brand new, unopened package of 2-ton epoxy, which looked like 2 syringes attached together, which would mix the resin and hardener as you dispense it. Well, the hardener part leaked out over the years, leaving some of the things an oily mess. It didn't harden like glue, it's rather just oily/sticky. In the future I would avoid things like this as well as batteries anywhere near these parts :D

Radio Shack was right next door to our shop. I walked in a few days before all was gone and asked, "How much?" $100, he said. I walked away. He came into the shop three days later and told me I could have it free if I just got it out of there that day. It's a stout unit.
