I don´t know if this thread will get some answers, but here´s the question:

I know there are some informatic and electronics guys here. The Mustang I v1 amp accepts a one-button footswitch to alternate between two presets - I built mine years ago -. I have no idea at all how it works in the internal of the amp.

Does anybody have any idea if there´s a way to build something like a 4 button footswitch to store/trigger 4 presets, that could work with this amp?

I remember I found someone who did something similar - not here on AGF -, but it was somewhat complex - can´t seem to find it now -.

I know, I´d be happier with a multi effects with that function, but you know...

I'm not an expert but all the info I've seen on the net is that Mustang 1 & 2 can only use a 1 button footswitch.
Mustang 3 & 4 can use 4 button footswitch.

That´s correct, Mickey. That´s officially how it is. But programming/electronic guys who like to DIY have came accross such adaptations. I´ll keep on searching the one I found before.

I'm not sure how without reprogramming the amp.
You see, as long as the amp is only programmed to recognize a 1 button footswitch
it matters not what other type of footswitch you hang on it, it will only recognize 1 button.
If there are guys out there who can program the amp, the sky is the limit. :)

Found it!

But... forget it. It´ll be actually cheaper to buy a multi effects pedal. It´s a complex - for me, anyway - midi and usb thing, and not totally DIY. Below you´ll find the page and a video.

I also thought about this as a possibility to come up with something that could be offered to Mustang I-II users - as a bussines idea, I mean, with somebody here, with the idea of making some money, of course -. Something simple and cheap to build, not too expensive. Mustang IV and V come with one, with several functions. It also works on Mustang III, but have to be bought separately and it´s not cheap. My idea is less complcated, simply to store 4 presets - or five - in each button, so the player can change sounds on the fly. It would be an interesting options for Mustang owners who cannot use the original Fender 4 button FS - I and II -.

Thanks! Yeah, I know about it. Haven´t been able to try it because I need the cable to connect the celphone into the amp, I just haven´t bought it, although I´m not sure it can be as versatile.

In the long run - can´t really know when, but it won´t be soon -, my intentions are to get rid of the amp and get a multi effects pedal with the options I want/need.

Hope you´re well!

Aaaaand that's exactly why I got the mustang floor. 6 buttons, 100 presets AND an expression pedal.
