I've had this for awhile now and I like the over the top bling. I like the fat neck, I like the tone, I love the pickguard, i hate how this pickguard looks on this guitar.
Orange flame on trans blue? Even I cant stomach that.
The problem is i cant decide what would look right on it. And then what would look good enough on a budget.
So I'm throwing it out there to you guys.
Simple? More inlaid? Light or dark? I'm partial to a woodgrain I think but more towards dark with a subtle grain as a balance. Sort of a understated bling?
But I want to hear other arguments and ideas.
What do youthink?

This guitar such a weirdo. The builder was quite the craftsman but in no way a luthier. I think someone at the old site had its blingy brother or sister. Maybe twang?
I'll ignore the fact that that i payed for a zerofret to fix that the nut was in the wrong place making it unplayable. It may still be off a tick and the frets are atrocious. I'm still too chicken to try and fix it.

What’s the routing look like without the guard? I am thinking along the lines of not only a different color, but different size and shape.

I kinda like the yellow "surface of the sun" in blue sky look.

I might want to trim it about 1/4" on the lower edge and horn so some blue frames the sun better.

Maybe another sun motif would also trip my wire. I like the birds in blue sky, a lot.

I voted black...keeps the focus on all the bling, which you have definitely covered all the bases in said category.

Blue and brown go excellent together. If that was my guitar I'd go with brown tort. The instrument has so much embellishment going on that I'd want to bring it down to earth a little with something classic.

I do like that darker wood grain one. That would go well,

I'm not usually a fan of mirror PGs but this seems like the right guitar for one.

A smaller size and shape would work better IMHO, if the finish is OK underneath. I would lean towards exposing the horn, and maybe get creative with shapes to match the overall look.

Material wise, I am not sure wood grain really works with it. I would go a plain parchment or black, or alternatively try to match the guitar with a small MOP or abalone pick guard.

I may have my black guard off of my bsb affinity. What are the odds it fits without substantial mods.?
That affinity looks great in the nude. I recall the blingcaster not so much.
