I have had great success getting affordable and high quality bodies with Woodtech Routing LLc on reverb. They are 2 nice brothers, maybe Amish ?, guys from Ohio. They offer unfinished, fully routed, bodies of several styles and several wood types. You get to see pics of exact body you buy. "Paint grade" alder are multi-piece at 115$ ( used to be 95$) . 2 piece alder are at 155$ ( prices used to be 120$). I prefer the 3 piece if they have them. I like the idea of one big center piece that neck and pups all plug into. No glue seems between neck pups and bridge. But,... my multi piece paint-grade is also great.

I like unfinished Allparts MIJ (Nagano) necks.., comes with soft V contour which I like best. SRO-V is the code for that. I get them from The Stratosphere web site for about 110$. They offer many radius' there. I like 7.25 on all my strats now..just like my first strat. Rubbing Tru Oil ( a gunstock finish) is closest to easy finish I have found. A few light coats. No chemical voc . Just need to burn your rags as they will self combust if left in a clump. I throw them immediately into my wood stove. I figure a few light coats of Tru Oil is close to nitro thin. Doesnt penetrate deep. I use it only on the maple parts of necks. Not for rosewood FB.

Here's my last "paint grade" body from Woodtech Routing LLC . Screw the paint...this one is o-natural'. Just alder, and grime...and char. Tru oil on back of neck.

Ghost Horses and Buffalo, while my two cats contemplate to "take one down" on the Plain of Dreams.

I truly was only trying to point out how much I've changed in my old age so please accept my apologies I never meant to offend you.
Absolutely no offense taken. I was agreeing with you that I, like you, are not very brand conscious. I think PRS has the highest quality, is a value and continues to try and approve. However, they aren't perfect and they are expensive. Sometime you get lucky with an inexpensive guitar and with a bit of attention, it is just as good.
