In case you weren't aware of it, Reville Guitars is closing up shop for the time being. From my experience (I've got about a half dozen of their guitars), they sell a quality product that is at the high end of the lower priced imports (I'd rate the build quality as being better than SX/Douglas/Hadean). Link below to what they currently have listed on eBay but according to the email i received from them, there will be more in th days to come:

There are, one of the blue SGs is sitting in the foyer, haven't gotten around to unboxing it yet...

Problem is I already have 3 Reville guitars. I will add though, that I have one of their offsets with the P90s out all the time.

The blue SG is mighty tempting, as is the Q90.
Either yellow or metallic orange Q90 gets me excited.

Trouble is, I'm really wanting a lefty Yamaha Pacifica right now.
Can't find one, but I want one.
You wouldn't have one you want to sell, would you, TJ?

I have both of those Reville models (Q19 in purple) and both are a great value for the price.

No Pacifica but I do have a Yamaha AES620. An absolutely wonderful instrument but the aesthetics just don't blow my skirt up...

I just looked up the AES620. I like it.
It doesn't give me the visceral response a Les Paul does, but I like it.

Well I wasn't going to buy any more Revilles, but I have a custom pickup idea I want to try out and need a donor guitar with a bathtub route. The Q90 has one, so I just went and bought yet one more Reville Q90 (TVY) from their site for $10 less than listed on ebay. Probably still saves them a bit of money going direct too.

What kind of pickup scheme are you contemplating?

I've got a set of Burns Trisonics I think I'd like to use in my Q19 once I've got a little experience cutting my own pickguards (thinking white pearl would look pretty good with the purple metallic and chrome knobs/pickups)...

I love Trisonic pickups! (have them in a Brian May red special, but I can't sound like him) The donor Q90 will be supporting some R&D. I'm experimenting with a new pickup design, so I will have to hot-swap pickups a lot. The size and shape of the pickups will probably change a bit over time. I won't even be soldering them in, just using spring connectors and a somewhat ugly but functional mounting plate.

Experience cutting your own pickguards, eh?
i'll take a clear pickguard for my lefty Callisto.
I thought I wanted a tort guard for my Liquid, but I'm not sure it would look any better than the white one on the "powder blue" Liquid.

Take a number, I'm sure the first several will be disasters and after that, I've got probably close to a dozen more i need to do for other projects

That is the nicest way anyone has ever told me to go fuck myself.

I know what you mean. I'm still trying to get around to installing the Crunchy Pats in my Callisto, and repairing the second one of my mics that doesn't work.

Well damn, I'm going to be sorry to see Reville go. Today I got the TVY Q90 I intend to use as a bench-tester for pickups. After the normal fret filing and setup, this thing is an absolutely great guitar. If it was actually TV Yellow instead of Taxi Yellow, I don't think I could make it live as a bench tester. That's 3 awesome guitars in a row from them.

Well, if you're having second thoughts about using that as a bench tester, how about the trans blue SG? I really liked the shade of blue on the one used for the product listing but what I got is much darker with a goodly amount of green which makes it almost a teal. It's a sharp looking finish, just not the one I envisioned...

Hell Mickey, I owe you one. I'll be driving up to visit an old friend near Auburn in a month or so, I can drop it off on my way there...

Wait, are their SGs bathtub route also? I already have a green one that I don't like as much as the Q90s.

Well, it's a moot point now anyway but no, the SGs have the individual routs for the pickups. A bathtub rout would be easy enough to do but then you'd have to fabricate one of those batwing pickguards that certain models came with and that would be a pain....

Ha, yeah, they're not bathtub - I was thinking they had the batwing pickguard when you said that. I just found my Reville SG and immediately saw that it has the tiny PG. Mine also has the old headstock (upside-down open book), which I do like.
