I passed on last year's Firefly craze, though I was sorely tempted. I do recall that the 335s were around $159 and the LP, double cut and Tele styles were $129 or so. At least they were somewhere in that price range IIRC. Cheap enough so that they seemed an absolute steal. And I read about all the great reviews, etc.

There are currently 27 used Firefly guitars for sale on Reverb. Only one of them is priced below $200 - one tele is $180, local pickup only (I'm not counting the Firefly that someone turned into a MandoCello which I've never really heard of but actually looks kinda cool - https://reverb.com/item/39174395-morton ... f-an-ff338).

Has anyone ever successfully flipped a Firefly for more than purchase price? Do you know someone who has? It feels like it would be a total waste of time to create the listing to try a sell guitar, used, for more than you bought if for, new. I mean, none of these Firefly's belonged to Jimi or Slash. I'm curious if there's some robust flipper's market that I don't understand.

There's a sucker born every minute, right?

I imagine they do get some sales, especially between shipments when the FFs are unavailable.
I've seen the same thing for IYV. They have their green LP on Amazon for $173 shipped, while on Reverb they try to sell it for $500 shipped.

Most are in the $250-$350 range, but one of the FF LPs is listed for $500 too. WHAT?

I think there are huge profits being made by bottom feeders taking advantage of people's lack of knowledge in the used guitar market. I've seen signs of this ratcheting up for more than a year as asking prices went higher and higher. Now I am sure most of it is intentional price gouging by people with a ticket scalping mindset applied to guitars. I imagine a ton of new players will, in a year or two, figure out how they got screwed over. The really bad news is some of them will think "they did it to me, I'll just do it to someone else, that's how this market works".

Gearlist: A few LP's, a Strat, a Tele and a few acoustics.

Don’t we already have 2 other “price gouging” threads going?

Listing prices do not equal sale prices. Show me a bunch of closed transactions and I might be interested in the topic, otherwise, it’s meaningless.
