Re: Tube Amp Pro Tip: Ridding the Reverb Recovery Hum
The input jacks should be grounded to the chassis, or floated with a cap and diodes. The rest of the circuit should go to the bus with the "return" flow back to the rectifier going away from the inputs. Of course electrons actually flow in the other direction, but the idea is to have the i...

Re: Tube Amp Pro Tip: Ridding the Reverb Recovery Hum
Using the chassis as a ground conductor was a mistake/shortcut used by most amp builders. Ideally, all the circuit grounds, including all jacks and pots should go to a circuit ground bus (or star) that only connects to the chassis shield ground in a single place, right at the beginning of the power ...

Re: AD-3200 B stock
Hmmmm. Still seems weird that the output goes up when pulled. I would have wired it the opposite. If I keep the push pulls, I might use them to change tone cap values or maybe do something crazy like turn on and off an onboard buffer.

Re: AD-3200 B stock
Update on the 3200... I took the day off of work "to get things done around the house" which means after my wife left I plugged the new guitar into a 1967 Super Reverb, cranked up to a modest distortion (v6, t6, m10, b0, reverb 2.7 ish) and let her rip for all the neighborhood to enjoy! Co...

I will check out Fender Riffstation and Moises. The only software I have been using lately is Tonex and rarely Reaper.

Re: End of an era, no more SX in US.
Seems one can boil it all down to the advance payment requirement. The MOC and import costs are also huge. MOC's are how Gibson, Marshall, Fender and others really killed the mom and pop retail stores. The local shop I got my first guitar from almost 40 years ago is still in business and I talk to ...

Re: WELCOME TO GIBSON-VILLE
Claremont is the town Rondo moved to when they left NJ. I assume the sign is a tribute to Agile guitars. As for the lefty headstock, I don't think it adds much if any cost to have both these days. Just flip the CAD drawing so you have left and right versions to feed the CNC machine. Are there lefty ...

Yep, and most of those are $600 and up with only the B stocks dropping below $500.

Re: End of an era, no more SX in US.
It seems like a small player like Rondo simply can't compete in the low price import market anymore. An SX at $250 and up is more than the Agile 2000's used to be! Seems like he is going to just have the $500 and up models, and probably sell a lot less of them.

End of an era, no more SX in US.
See Kurt's announcement quoted below. https://www.rondomusic.com/Logistics.html November 14, 2023: The end of an Era ? No more SX Guitars at Rondo Music!! Unfortunately, you have read that headline correctly. Rondo Music will be phasing out most SX guitar models in 2024. We will continue to offer pa...

I think it was a lot more than grunge in 1991. More like a move to anything but hair metal that settled on grunge for a bit... 1. Nevermind - Nirvana 2. Ten - Pearl Jam 3. Achtung Baby - U2 4. Re: DIAMOND MARTY ALLEN GETS WHAT VAN HALEN IS ALL ABOUT
I think at the time the album was recorded and video filmed Becker could have still pulled it off. They would just need him to stand and play air guitar for a few minutes and then use creative editing and waist up close ups to finish the video. The bigger issue is the music world was going through a...

Re: AD-3200 B stock
Figure you can save about 0.5 grams per cubic centimeter of mahogany removed from the wings, but keep in mind that there are already cutouts for the controls and switch. Plus, the more you remove, the more expensive labor and machine time is needed and the weaker the guitar will be. If you want to a...

Re: AD-3200 B stock
I don't think that would work for the bottom without major retooling as the neck would need to be notched down for the bottom cap. I think it would be easier to route out the side wings before adding the maple top cap, or use two bottom caps and the top cap with the sides as you propose. It would co...

Re: Agile 2800
The new price isn't much of an indicator for used prices after a guitar hasn't been available new for a while. A better indicator would be the prices of alternatives. A used Agile should sell at a discount to the available new alternatives that are of similar quality. Since inflation has driven up n...

It reminds me a bit of that old Agile AD-2250. @Mossman and @TVvoodoo had come up with a pretty sharp design but then Kurt got involved in the process, unbeknownst to us. After searching the case and packaging for the tip, I concluded it must have been broken before it got packed up and shipped. Well, today I had a friend stop by and I showed him the guitar and instantly saw the switch tip in the case. So, that broke in shipping to me.

Re: AD-3200 B stock
This is the Epiphone version. Ugly pointy horns, and a set neck with a heel that gets in the way. It's the same price as a 3200, but nowhere near as nice of a guitar.
