Incoming NBD!

Looking to try the bass again and was going purchase a no name or a Donner off of Amazon. Then I bounced over to Sweetwater and found a used Squier Affinity P Bass for less than Donner. Should be here tomorrow.. it was suppose to be today, but that didn't happen. It's used because it got a chip duri...

Re: How many of you use minimalistic pedalboards?

I have a lot of pedals because I use to make a lot of pedals, but I have slowed down. I have 4 power bricks on my pedal board and 2 buffers. One at the beginning of my chain after the looper and one at the end.

Re: Counterfeit Guitars

But some of those people buying them are in the business of reselling them. Same for fancy purses, sneakers, etc. I don't think all 36 were the same day shipment. Wonder how many fake Seymour Duncan's are put into guitars and traded in or sold. I can bet it brings the value up way more than the cos...

Re: Counterfeit Guitars

I begged to differ. We have the luxury of knowing what is counterfeit because of forums like this. Not everyone who purchases guitar belong to forums. If little Suesy or Johnny cruising the YouTubes and decides to they want to play the guitar like the people they see on YouTube. They go and bother ...

The only f'd thing about this. There is a possibility somebody saved their money to purchase one of these not knowing they are counterfeit. Now they are out of the money and the guitar.

Re: NGD - used studio faded mahogany - my 1st Gibson

My first Gibson Les Paul is my 2009 Faded and which is now a Gold Top. I paid 485.00 with HSC from Music123.. The faded has several name changes throughout the years. Mine was a Studio Worn Brown and I had Rhythm Pro in the neck and lead pro in the bridge. This is an older picture of my Faded to Gol...

Re: REALLY glad I'm no longer living in the Northeast!!

Here at the Cape we got rain. I lived in San Antonio (wife from New Braunfels, son was born in Uvalde) and even though the winters are mild compared to the Northeast. The heat killed me even after living there for a few years. I wasn't able to acclimated to the heat. My air conditioner would be at s...

Re: Tons of Behringer pedals for $19 at Sweetwater

My vintage delay is the oldest pedal that I own on my board. I have had MXR, Donner, and Boss, but I liked the Behringer the better and that's why it's still on my board.

My engineer called and stated at the end of the month as well.

Re: Studio condenser mic on sale at Amazon for $20.99

I picked up a "cheap" studio mic BM-800 (exelvan) for like $4.60 back in 2018. Not bad for what I paid for it. Here's my little recording of all the cheap mics I have. The GXL 2200 and my Rodes NT1A (Not recorded) are the ones use all the time. The Pyle I use once and a great while. The BM...

Re: Just Acquired A 2007 PRS SE ONE. Any Love For This Guitar Here?

I can't bond with my PRS.. I keep threatening to wind some pickups for it, but I've been fairly lazy. Even though I haven't bonded with mine doesn't mean that has stopped me at looking at others. PRS One looks hawt!

I have the DEAD BEATS The Void picked it up on Amazon back in 2017 and it's a good pedal. Not sure what they are going for now as I picked mine up for around 40.00.. Josh at JHS thinks it's a good pedal :)

I find the real debate is, A - can you hear it (or can some people hear it but others can't/won't), and B - does it matter? Hahaha

Re: String Gauge

You tune your guitar to a certain frequency example E1 329.63 Hz. The string vibrates and disrupts the magnetic field of the pickup at 329.63Hz. The frequency will not change if you are using .009 to.011(unless it goes out of tune) It's still going remain 329.63 Hz throughout,. I can see if they ha...

Snake Oil. Power of suggestion is strong and you can't overcome that. Compare it blind without knowing what is what, same string height, same guitar, same playing pressure, etc. Then I'm more apt to believe it. Until then it's snake oil to me until it's proven otherwise, beside subjectively. You tun...

Re: I Think I’ve Turned Into a “Strat Guy”

I was a Jackson V fan because the Big 4 played them.. then moved onto Dinky's. Then about 2005 I played a Les Paul and I was hooked from that point on. I started off on Epi's and then moved onto GIbsons. Don't get me wrong I do love my Strat and Tele's, but just like the feel of the Les Paul.

Use to be a subscriber of Know Your Gear. I even purchased a t-shirt to support the channel. One day he told the channel some wrong information as truth. That's all it took and I tried to hang in there, but couldn't. For the most part he does have some good information.

I don't care how one spends their money, but people should be aware that a lot of the hype is to make sales. You you think the term "you get what you pay for" was from the end user.. hell no it was from a salesmen trying to push their higher price product for a better profit. A lot of thes...
