I saw all of those as well and was going to post here but looks like you already ordered them all - nice work! Maybe @tobijohn can pick up the scraps?

Maple Neck/freboard was fairly common back in the day in the 2xxx line. That exact guitar in the OP https://www.rondomusic.com/product9764.html

Sounds about right While SX has always been a fantastic value, Rondo was never known for their exact inventory management unfortunately Hope you get the one you want.

Looking good, I love the grain/color variation on the top. I understand most people prefer a well matched/consistent top and that's why all the a-stock guitars get them...but I'd much rather have something with personality like that.

Re: Sam Ash To Shutdown Remaining Stores
This is a bummer but not really surprising TBH - not many big retailers left out there in any industry. They were definitely one of the better ones to deal with though, and they also had a pretty decent ( and not as well known ) used selection.

We doubled up the decorative binding. And then the tan colored binding will hide the 2 layers. You can see in the very last pic how it looks.. I do intermingle my build and my sons.....but that last pic is my build. My heart sunk when I saw what happened.... I might go down to the classroom after w...

Re: Playing Unplugged
I play unplugged almost exclusively, and the guitars I keep out all the time are mostly acoustics. But when I have to be quiet I will play one of my electrics either via headphones or sometimes just the guitar. And of the electrics I have, the strat is definitely the loudest acoustically. Mine is no...

Nice playing as always Doc. I have never seen the show but if there is conflict/uncertainty as part of the plot I can feel it in the music.

Just having access to all those tools/equipment is well worth the cost, plus being able to make a mess at someone else's place So what is the prognosis for your project - will you have to replace the whole top or can it be fixed?

I seriously doubt that I'll be around in 2030. I was in hospital in January 2023 and they told me I'd never see 2024 & moved me to Hospice care. I was on Hospice until Jan 2024 & they told me I was too healthy for Hospice. You are preaching to the choir about Mazdas! The majority of the veh...

HNIMD! My family has acquired 2 Mazda's in the past couple years - a CX30 that our kids drive and A CX9 for mom (no more minivan)! Mazda has in my mind taken over the crown for high quality/simple/reliable Japanese cars from Toyota/Honda. Plus they are a heck of a lot more fun to drive. Both of the ...

I don't have one but agree that they definitely have a cool vibe in a non-mainstream way, kind of like these guys... Their guitarist Tim Sult has a pretty extensive Gibson collection and several firebirds coincidentally.

Re: How do you listen to music these days?
For streaming, I got hooked into Sirius when I bought my first vehicle thusly equipped and I enjoy it for both music and sports talk. I also started utilzing Apple Music via a free trial, mostly so I could download ( and play offline ) music for long international flights where there is no wifi. I t...

Around here most people still post on all available free platforms it seems, but FB marketplace has been pretty productive for me as of late. I sold a couple of bikes and and the topper from my old truck last fall, all of them for pretty close to my asking price and within 24 hours of posting

IIRC, he was the original builder/owner of that 3200 semi-custom that you, I, and a half dozen others on AGF owned at one point.tonebender wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:41 am I remember zacsdad well. Pretty sure I traded, bought and sold gear with him.

I do appreciate the wisdom as this is a new process for me, I have basically walked from job to job with a good reference or being recruited since I left college 11 years ago. And you likely will continue that trend - you would not have been recruited and/or have good references for no reason. Whil...

Re: Trade Drama Got me confused and frustrated
That is a bummer for sure. Although if he took the initiative to send it to a shop ( vs just asking to undo the trade ) that would tell me he's serious about the bass. I'd call the shop and ask them for their $.02 on the state of the neck. While it's probably not the first thing on your "to do&...

So far, my lay back and wait method of job hunting is yielding to some interesting leads, haven't yet gotten face to face, but I am OK with moving slow for now, I still have a job and the company hasn't presented any sort of incentive package to stay so I am OK to ride it out and I don't want to li...
