It was the Rickenbacker 4001 I had that he had an issue with @nomadh
I have the PRS, and it wasn't quite as advertised but still sounds great.

Re: Robben Ford / Pedal Show w/Dumble
One of the times I saw Robben live, he was playing a red knob Twin! I've repaired a few Evil Twins and their head counter part, the red-knob Showmans. Riveria designed. Most underrated and affordable amps out there. The only down side is their complicated switching jacks got brittle and were at one...

Re: First Foray into Multiscale (Second into headless)
I think I would be interested in hearing / learning of the sonic differences of a multi-scale length guitar. That said, I could never see such a thing in regular rotation for my style of playing. I'm happy to bring it by. I doubt I could see you trading/selling guitars to grab one of these unless y...

First Foray into Multiscale (Second into headless)
I recently tried a Strandberg Fusion HSH model that was both multiscale and headless. Frankly, I hated the neck. It's both very wide and seems to only be comfortable for a very particular style of playing (per their site). Just a few days later someone offered me a Kiesel Vader Multiscale so I took ...

Re: Sam Ash To Shutdown Remaining Stores
Vulture that I am, I called and asked about a PRS 509 10 Top they had to see what kind of deal I could get. Best I could get was free shipping (on a 4K guitar). I was a bit surprised. Maybe that's why they're going out of business. If I called 5 PRS dealers about what PRS they might be able to give,...

Re: Trade Drama Got me confused and frustrated
Update: He left me negative feedback on The Gear Page yesterday at 4:30 PM. It's slightly less than 3 months since the transaction. He has my cell phone number and never called me about it or texted me an update so I can only assume the shop probably got back to him yesterday and told him something ...

Re: New GC direction
Over time I've gone to mostly higher end gear and usually used or when I can find a good deal. My local GC has some of the worst setup guitars in their high end room. They'll need to a lot better to move their high end stuff. In my city people would go to Eddie's or Killer Vintage for high end stuff...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?
Mike. Odd that Mike would by that guitar. Cool on the amp! It has a few of the mods that I do, with negative feedback. It also has a mod toswitch it to Class A output (Tweed Champ) from a 15w (Tweed Deluxe). I feel like I'm going to explain it poorly, but Mike had a side project that he thought cal...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?
Hennig? Mike. Also, the aesthetics of those Kinmans I have works perfectly for this guitar so you probably know what I'm tempted to do. The electronics are on a pickguard and it doesn't require doing anything crazy through F holes to install. I think a push-pull would be required. Also, working out...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?
Buying one of these. @andrewsrea knows the seller as he's local and he now goes to Rob for a lot of his amp and guitar work (thanks to me!). Pretty sure I got a price I won't lose my ass on if I need to sell.

@andrewsrea can attest that I briefly had one of these (an original one). Probably because of age the finish was a bit more subdued than this. It wasn't the greatest guitar but it wasn't absolutely horrible either.

It actually turns out the Reverb is broken too. But it also has a lifetime warranty like the Jackson audio pedal.

I went hog wild at GC's Guitar A Thon and bought some discounted pedals. Unfortunately, one of them was broken so I need to take advantage of the Jackson's VIP warranty: https://youtu.be/id94okN_P1M?si=CxqksY0_D3WzQ8XG Mesa Boogie Cleo: https://youtu.be/CJsSdj8vAFs?si=h79FK7q3ydLt41CS Native Audio G...

Tried to donate both with Thai card or USA card but the hangup seems to be the system won't accept my location being Thailand and cannot change it to USA (I guess fraud prevention). If you have a bank account that can take Zell transfers I can go direct from my USA bank. I sent a PM...but it's just...

Also grabbed this thing I was staring at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Tbg2jdxZ3c because I'd sold my old one want was thinking of grabbing this when andrewsrea said he wanted to borrow the one he thought I still owned. It's interesting because we could argue IR does the same thing with presets,...

Picked up one of these: https://youtu.be/X8i4AUeO2VE?si=I_uXvhN1e6sYCraS I'm hearing that this is actually the ProAnalog Manticore v2 but ProAnalog failed to pay for work Cusack did, went out of business, and that got them the rights to this. It's based on a Klon: https://youtu.be/vq2uDZS72eg?si=L0S...

Still waiting on him. He claims the shop took a quick look at and it is twisted and then they'll be able to look at it in 3 weeks. What kind of person thinks "I traded a guitar and it looks like the neck has a twist. Instead of talking to the person I got it in trade from I'll ship it off to an...

I seem to recall the girl from Covet, Yvette Young, used an SX Tele that she put Bill Lawerence pickups in before Ibanez sponsored her. In other words, she's in good company

Re: Very Cool Family Band: Philipines
I know a lot of Filipino bands because my wife is Filipina. They've definitely got some good music. As for safety, it's like any country in that it depends on where you go. I'm sure you'll find people swearing up and down that the major city I live near is probably more dangerous than many places in...

You certainly come across nice amplifiers and guitars! Any interest in a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL100 head or know someone who does? Someone wants to trade me for Chiris' Kramer 'The 84' guitar. You're selling that Kramer for like $630? I'd at least be curious to try it and flip it if I didn't love it ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnBF4--Wjno Honestly the Trinity can get some gain with PAF type pickups and no boost on the clean channel. Shawn's demo here is probably the demo with the least amount of gain used. Most demos of this are for metal. https://youtu.be/xFTFwrthGXo?si=S-9KSm4BXABaNfen&am...

PRS MT100, DSL40C, and a Mezzabarba Trinity 100W all in one week.
8 days technically. Had a Friedman SS100 I got at a great price, traded it for the Trinity 100W. This amp insanely versatile with the negative feedback and depth controls. I'd easily pick this up over a SLO100 or the Friedmans I've owned (BE100 and SS100). Sometime that week I picked up a DSL40C wit...

Re: Chumble Overdrive Special
@Tonray's Ghost Absolutely, they make great clones of many amps in Malaysia. They're harder to find, a lot of people ask used for what they go for new, but being lesser known they can occasionally be found for great prices.
