Re: Trade Drama Got me confused and frustrated

Do you know who has the guitar in San Diego ? Would it be reasonable to ask. https://topgearguitar.com/ I'm in san diego but I dont know that shop. I think I may know that exact area. It used to me our music row but most are gone now. I think its more new. Wonder why he shipped it there? If shippin...

Re: New GC direction

Does this mean we'll get to enjoy some 16 year old shredding on a $6000 Dusenberg thru a Fender Champion 20 in the stores ? It might. Just make sure you experience it before GC's final bankruptcy. I guess I'm confused and pardon me because I haven't been to GC in about 10 years. But didn't th...

Re: Sam Ash To Shutdown Remaining Stores

Sad to hear. I went down soon after announcement but no real deals yet. Maybe a bit on a Martin Jr. I'm still tempted by acoustics. Ash was a late Comer to San diego maybe only 6 years ago but liked the store. I did get my closeout Gibson lp cm there. Another guitar I didn't need and haven't played ...

Very cool. With theaters running classic movies I was really hoping for another showing of grand prix. I'd love to see that big its full sound.

Re: Did You Ever Play A Song Wrong?

I'm hearing learning by lp compared to the learn by casette. I think my tools set my style for my entire life. I learned most everything for years starting out off of 8 track tape. If you mis a note Orr phrase it's 10 min until you hear it again. So I never got good at exact copy or even hearing wha...

Re: Did You Ever Play A Song Wrong?

If you could play a song wrong, jazz couldn't exit! After all, jazz is nothing but intentionally playing a song wrong! :D I believe Miles Davis said if you're playing live and you hit a wrong note, just make sure you play that same wrong note again and it becomes your interpretation rather than you...

Re: Agile and stainless steel frets

I have a 3001. Fine guitar but actually the ss frets off put me a bit. I get a sort of after ping when playing. Funny enough last time I was playing it I had it setup for slide and wasn't even using the frets. I still want to get back to it and give it a another try

I've got to be honest with you guys — I feel like I can no longer use this forum to write honestly, openly, and earnestly about the really interesting philosophical, gritty and raw experience of a gigging guitarist — so you're not going to be privy to all of that. Make no mistake, there is stuff go...

I thought MOJO was a san diego guy. He popped up alot here with other local talent. I always thought I'd catch his show here but he was never really in my circle of bands I was watching.

Re: Acoustic build w/my son *Update Week 2*

This is so cool. It's been a dream of mine to build an acoustic. The only way to top that would be if my kid would build it with me. A big disappointment I had was that my kids hs had a guitar building class where Taylor gave you a kit to build. I so wanted my kids to take the class and I would chec...

Re: Santana's "Corazon Espinado" cover by Sabas

This is Santana - featuring mexican band Mana -; the song is "Corazón Espinado", in English it would translate to something loke "Thorny Heart". I listen to this song regularly, and have always wanted to (be able) to play it. After quite some years, goal accomplished - according...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?

I don't think I ever posted this but a few months ago at gc I ran into a Funky old monkey wards mltiuse amp. It has a guitar keys and bass input all wth different tones. I got as a quick gad and go bass amp. I'm guessing about 40 watts. I knew it would be loud enough playing with edrums but wasn't s...

Sounds like you're set. I was going to suggest a vox vt40x for on the cheap. Not so much for the $300 price but killer for the $60 used I see around. Decent tones. It is my drag to a jam or open mic amp. A few times guys with fancier setups and even already setup on stage wanted to use my amp becaus...
