Guitar Center experience

Took 4 guitars to Springfield, NJ to sell today, an Agile, AL 2000, an SX Furrian, a Firefly V, and and Iyv semihollow. Although I have bought many things online, I have never actually been in a Guitar Center before. Wow, when I walked in the door it felt like when The Wizard of Oz turns to color. E...

Re: Rare Bird Rescue

dabbler It's interesting you mentioned intonation problems. Mine does not intonate perfectly. It's not horribly off, but the low E is as far back as it can go, and it's still a few cents sharp. I thought it must have been something I was doing wrong, but now I see it's similar with someone else,.to...

Re: Rare Bird Rescue

dabbler I see the differences in hardware, pickups and knobs between the sx and the hadean. From the pic it looks like the Hadean has "bluer" inlays. What are the other differences? Are the necks different? Weight? The Hadean, being even a lighter natural is just stunning to me. I really ...

Re: Rare Bird Rescue

toomanycats I forgot to ask about your pickup alignment. I can't really see from the angle of the pic. I do see that your pickups are different, which furthers my theory that mine had a pickup swap at some point, and that it's probably the wrong sized pickup causing that misalignment. Edit - I see ...

Re: Rare Bird Rescue

dabbler - the one in the upper left of your picture is the one that had me gassing so hard on the Rondo page. I love that blond / natural finish so much. I had it in my cart a couple times and backed out, figuring I'll just get it next time, and then they disappeared forever. I couldn't believe my ...

Harm varieties?

Can anyone tell me the differences between a Harm (one?) and a Harm 3? Is there such a thing as a Harm 2?

Re: Rare Bird Rescue

See how beautiful she is? See why I want to save her? And in the hand, she feels just as good as she looks, and she is lightweight. See why it's driving me crazy? LOL Looking at these pictures, I'll say the headstock still looks bad, but it was much, much worse before I did my treatments to it. It a...

Rare Bird Rescue

So the rare bird in Question is an SX Isis, with a red to black fade on the body. Or, maybe it was just called a Sis at one point. Earlier than that, it might have been called a KY...something? Anyway, this is the only place I can have this conversation with people who will understand what all that ...

PS-900 vs. Hawker?

Hi guys, I hope everybody has been fine. I haven't been around for a while. I find myself in a position to have to sell off some guitars. A while back I bought a guitar listed as a PS-900, and I just kind of went along and listed it on Reverb as such, but now that I'm sort of looking at it and study...

Re: Live Sound Help Please

I appreciate the added wisdom from everyone! Thank you! There will be several shows, probably a total of 10 per year, or so. Renting equipment or hiring a company is not on the cards right now. These are school productions, but we take them very seriously. I'd like to think that we are the best in o...

Re: Live Sound Help Please

I'm definitely chewing on the idea of micing the stage. I think I like that idea. How do I carry that out, practically? I wouldn't have any means of hanging microphones anywhere. Can I set up a few mics, in mic stands, a few feet apart from each other, and run those? That doesn't sound too practical...

Re: Live Sound Help Please

Thank you, Moss, Bat, and Nomadh for your detailed and thoughtful replies. I really appreciate the time you took to help me out. I have probably bitten off more than I can chew, but that's normal. Haha. Actually, I didn't even bite it off. I was given this big wad and asked to chew it. Which I will,...

I've watched a couple YouTube videos so far, so I'm trying to familiarize myself, but each situation is different and I have to figure out exactly what I need to make this situation happen.

Re: Live Sound Help Please

Sorry... And can I connect speaker to speaker, or is each speaker connected directly to the monitor? The last set up we used was indoors, with a hard wired in house system. I didn't have to connect anything. All I had to do was plug into the house system and set volume levels. That part was super ea...

Re: Live Sound Help Please

4 pa speakers and 2 more used as monitors equals 6 outs. Is that going to be a problem? And do all the outs send exactly the same signal, or can I customize them, at least as far as volume? I don't think the stage monitors will need to be as loud as those facing the audience.

Re: Live Sound Help Please

Thank you for the help! The stage will he about 10 X 20, outdoors, and we used to get between 500 to 600 people indoors, so I would expect less than that for outdoors. Probably about half. In my head, I have wireless lavaliere mics, with their receivers going into a mixer, then out to 4, two way, 12...
