Re: NAD: Paul Reed Smith MT15
Frig, I don't need another amp. I don't need to know how awesome this sounds through my Rectifier 2x12. No matter what that little guy on my left shoulder wearing the devil suit says, I don't! This is actually (maybe sadly) the most I've ever spent on an amp. No regerts, though. I'm still tube roll...

Then you can probably imagine what it sounds like through a 5150 412!Rollin Hand wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 2:03 pm I played one of these through an EVH 2x12 (IIRC), and it sounded gooooood. HNAD!

Re: NAD: Paul Reed Smith MT15
I tried the KT77s yesterday, and I don't really care for them in this amp. They seem to add a harshness that wasn't there with the 6CA7s or the 6L6s. I still want to try some EL34s, but I think the 6CA7s may be the perfect match. At least, so far. I do also have some pretty decent sounding no-name R...

NAD: Paul Reed Smith MT15
I haven't been totally satisfied with my Peavey 6505MH head lately, and I wanted something different. After watching far too many Youtube video reviews, and seeking personal experiences, I decided on the PRS MT15. Why? It's a compact "lunch box" sized head, but it uses 6L6s. And five, yes ...

Re: Carvin V3M Tube Recommendations
I'm also not a fan of JJ preamp tubes, although their power tubes are great. I prefer the Tung Sol reissues for the preamp tubes, if buying new. For NOS stuff, I like the green label Sylvanias a lot, and of course JAN Phillips when you can find them at a reasonable price. Try a low gain tube, like a...

Re: NCD: Peavey 5150 Cab
412.jpg I went to the hardware store today and picked up some mounting bolts that I was missing, and also some Titebond for the "baffle". Should be ready to test out (finally!) once the glue sets. A friend of mine has been pushing me to wire it for 4Ω, but I only have one head that will a...

Re: NCD: Peavey 5150 Cab
Congrats on the new Cab and speakers. There is a size limit on photos. I don't recall what it is. Posting from Flickr has become aggravating but that is due to me doing it so rarely and them changing things wrt how it works there now. Anyway, hope you are well and look forward to seeing the cab and...

Re: NCD: Peavey 5150 Cab
Maybe the photos are showing now? They look very low res to me, and for some reason the cat photo is turned 90 degrees.
I tried.
I need to get a new mounting bolt, as I am one short for the remaining speakers. I also need some wood glue, since the baffle isn't staying put.

Re: NCD: Peavey 5150 Cab
Sounds like a good deal. What are you connecting to it to move the air? I can't see the pics for some reason. There are 2 Peavey Sheffield 5150 speakers, and my Celestion G12T-75s came yesterday. I'm mounting those today, but I need to run to the hardware store for one more mounting screw/bolt. Wei...

NCD: Peavey 5150 Cab
I've been on the hunt for a 412 cab for a little while now, and haven't had a lot of luck...until last weekend. Had to make a drive up to Portland, but it was worth it for $120. The cab has 2 of the original 4 stock Peavey speakers, which are supposed to sound like very well broken in Greenbacks, fr...

Re: Classic Rock Tone Anyone?
I have one of these. Fun to play with, and with an expression pedal, it can be used as a "regular" wah.
Yes, I also have a wah pedal.

I'm here! Just took me awhile to get around to it.
Several of you folks reached out to me, besides John. I appreciate that. Glad to be here.
