Re: NGD: Agile Harm 1
... Was I crazy to buy another of the exact same model? ... I'm happy to be crazy. I don't think you are crazy. They aren't exactly the same. But then this is coming from someone who bought an SX SST57, modded it... and then bought ANOTHER SST57 because he missed the sound of the stock pups! (And y...

You are so right!uwmcscott wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 10:37 am Maple Neck/freboard was fairly common back in the day in the 2xxx line. That exact guitar in the OP https://www.rondomusic.com/product9764.html
And how did I miss that guitar when it was being sold????
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Re: Most Unusual Agile LP I've EVER Seen
Not to drift the thread, but on a larger, more all encompassing subject, it has been my understanding the the man, Les Paul, intended the guitar which is his namesake to be constructed entirely out out maple. In the prototype phase this resulted in an instrument that was too heavy. It was because o...

Re: Most Unusual Agile LP I've EVER Seen
Both of the guitars pictured above have maple fretboards, but the necks are mahogany. There were a few standard (non-custom) ALs with maple fretboards, but not with P-90s.
Here's another non-custom (Albino AL2500):

Yeah, definitely a custom order. I never wanted to drop enough coin to get a custom... but I got almost everything I wanted in time.

Re: Odd Rondo interaction
The 8+ string guitars are for a metal niche. There are not a lot of people buying them, but there are also not a lot of companies selling them, unlike cheap Chinese LP clones these days. When the Agile LP was at its peak, there were not many other options in the price range, and less if you wanted ...

Re: Odd Rondo interaction
I can't look at his listings. 9 string 10 string fanned frets etc. Sad the old days are gone of choosing between 7 models of LP's. $600 is too much for a a LP copy. I've bought studios for less than that. So very true 😢, but I still check his listings regularly. But while I am sad, I'm not mad. Kur...

Re: Odd Rondo interaction
It's getting weirder. Even though Kurt canceled my Rondo site order of the maple fretboard Hawk, he just now messaged me on Reverb that they only have that guitar with a maple fretboard. Seriously! I told him I'd take either, but it felt like he was messing with me after last week's maple board can...

Re: New GC direction
The higher end customer (I am thinking $1.5k to $4K) is looking at guitars on Sweetwater, picking out the specific wood grain and weight, and buying knowing that no one but the Sweetwater employees who inspected, photographed and setup the guitar have touched it. ... Maybe. I don't spend that kind ...

Re: New GC direction
There are probably other factors being considered too, though. For example, what do you think is the percentage of people who visit their local GC to try out and choose a starter guitar/bass and then go home and order their choice online? But I bet that doesn't happen as often for people seeking &qu...

Yup! And I agree with her on the value! My bass on the right below is basically the same as hers stock without the neck pup cover, but I'm not really a fan of white guards on light colored basses, so I tend to change them to something darker. I marvel at the things that are available today but I doubt I will ever be able to utilize the stuff. I am still amazed by an amp that has a drive channel and built in reverb. I fumble around with a Trio and a looper and never even got comfortable with it. My Boss Songwriter acoustic amp has a buil...

Re: End of an era, no more SX in US.
I'd bet a few of the models do go up in the used market, but maybe not all. If I had to bet, I'd say the Liquid appreciates, not so much the others as there are similar models from other sources that are equal or less in price... I agree on the Liquid, but I also believe that some other models migh...
