Wife and I came down to FL this week to help her parents out a bit and took off exploring last night. Found a micro brewery called Wet Dogs Brewing in Lake Placid. As luck would have it, it was open mic night.
Ended up spending a few more beers there than we planned but had a great night.
Great beer and local talent.

Cool little town, beautiful too. I have been through there too many times to count. I stop at the Publix when traveling. You never know where the talent will surface.

The local open mic I used to spectate just shut down.
Dedicated attendees, friendly community venue... last year, dude running it told me he wanted to travel cross-country. Maybe this is it?
Bummer, that was a way for me to engage with some nice folks, and in the summer tourist season, some visiting talent, some amazing, would grace the stage.
One striking performance was this very old gentleman, sitting on a chair, reciting the lyrics of The Doors' "The End".

The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

As part of my new gig I will be heading down near Jacksonville ( Amelia Island ) the week of 2/21 to get an overview of our FL operations. I know that is way north of almost all the AGF Florida crew but I will have a vehicle and be there for 3 nights. Any recommendations for things to see/do?
